The trial would operate exactly the same as the 40-20 kick, but obviously with different marginal zones. Would that mean the Kicker has his back towards play And does a bicycle kick type punt??

I'd love to see the NRL introduce the free play rule, it beggars belief that we all play the same sport but the rules are different in each competition and then a whole different set for international.
And we wonder why RL is mocked,

Keeping on The Subject of Aussie RL thingies The NRL & RLIF Have announced that Sydney (the place in Australia) not the Hot dog van owner in Monton) will host the RL World 9s tournament in October 2019 It will consist of Twelve nations , I assume it'll include teams from the Northern Hemisphere. Probably more likely to include countries where the game is Developing. I.e Serbia,Germany Cheshire Middlesex 😎

So a defending team can kick from their 20 and have it bounce out in the opposition 40 (just the 20-40m zone? or both the 0-20m and 20-40m?)
Not sure i like that idea, too much like union making it easier to kick your way out of trouble. Could be wrong if i'm misunderstanding it, but not for me.
