Were now in November and currently have only 20 squad players. Hoping the club have it covered because were very short on players, especially back row forwards. A few injuries and we'll be absolutely up $ hit creek. Surely there must be an absolute minimum of 4 new signings to come but I think we need at least 5 if not 6.

Well I heard from high up that to get Hastings we had to lose two forwards so there’s part of the thinning!

Well I heard from high up that to get Hastings we had to lose two forwards so there’s part of the thinning! That doesn’t surprise me. Will be hard for Hastings to play to his potential behind a beaten pack though. Without at least another 6 players it will be a very hard season |

It is a bit worrying. I really hope we've not blown our budget just to keep Hastings. Isn't preseason training due to start shortly? I would've hoped that we'd have the majority of our squad and transfers sorted, rather than being a good 4 or 5 players short like we are now.

We replaced Koppy and Tasi with Walker and Dudson,allegedly. Levy and Bennion were projects that didn’t come off,so will be replaced with similar. Brinning didn’t play and we’re very well covered there. Burgess still to be replaced. Murray will be bigger,stronger and more experienced. So,I think that means that we’re one first choice and a couple of rookies short. Am I missing something ? |

When was Walker and Dudson confirmed? To my reckoning we've lost Tasi, Lannon, Koppy, Nzoungou, Bennion, Brinning and Burgess (7 players) from last years squad and not signed any new players. Although I accept we have signed Hastings and Lussick who finished the season with us.

I assume that when we had to lose 2 forwards that would be Tasi and Koppy and we would replace any others with cheap/young uns as we had too many forwards anyway.
As said above though we are 7 down at the moment. Even with unconfirmed signings of Sio and/or Inu, Dudson and Walker we are a way off. I’m disappointed we haven’t dipped into the lower leagues for some youngsters. Dudson is hardly the future is he?

I read an article that said Walker was being chased by several clubs and Dudson was released by Widnes about 3 weeks ago. The club did extremely well to keep Hastings and Lussick, but I just hope we haven't overstretched ourselves, leaving us with a very small squad with no margin for injuries. Perhaps the club have an eye on a few loan players not getting first team action, once the new season gets underway?

That replaces Tasi Lannon Koppy.........Brining and Vv never played and Burgess hardly played and then Nz and Bennion were failed projects.
So if the above is the plan, we're on our way. Plus we can recruit at year end (Jackson and Joey lookalikes) if necessary.
