Thanks for the feedback. We are looking to change RD2 for next season by starting the journey from the Swinton Town Hall up through Walkden, down to Boothstown and then perhaps on the M60 at Worsley Courthouse to shorten the journey. This is still up for debate so please keep the feedback coming. We have a meeting with the bus company on 28th to go through our options and if need be we will have to put contract out to tender. If anyone has a contact with another bus/coach company please pm me. They need to be able to handle cash transactions which i know some don't.
You're welcome.
But would you mind providing feedback regarding the return time of the bus?
The last time I encountered a fan-organised bus like this, the return time was at the whim of an impatient driver, with people not even having time for a piss afterwards.
As I've had to ask three times, I guess this is the situation with our buses.
Which is unfortunate.

Where are you traveling from and to Vin? I'm half thinking of looking at getting one of the guys I work with at 1010 with a 7 seater for a rate to and from Worsley, normally a few in there pre game and know Mrs Mafia and his father in law are local and might be interested in lumping in. It would always be 30 minutes after the hooter to let the traffic die down.

Sorry Vin, i am not ignoring the question. The guidance to the drivers is to leave 20 minutes after the final whistle

We have agreed to amend the RD2 bus route to shorten the journey time and hopefully that will encourage more fans to use this service in future. So it will only stop at 4 points, Little Hulton Con Club, Walkden Legion, The Royal Oak in Boothstown and at the bus stop opposite the John Gilbert before heading onto the M60 at Worsley Courthouse then straight to the AJB. The bus will run to a timetable and will leave each stop at the designated time which should mean the total journey will be no longer than 35 minutes. We anticipate both buses will arrive at the stadium 30 mins prior to kick off and leave 15 minutes after the final whistle. If we can't make RD2 work with the first 4 home games we will have no choice but to pull it.
If you do live on either bus route could i urge you to use the service.

Good idea but I'd suggest fans would prefer to get to the ground earlier and should the traffic be bad on the M60 (heading towards the TC) that there's a good chance of missing the start of the game.
Just an observation.

Just an observation. The feedback was that getting to the ground an hour before was too early so we have brought it forward by 30 mins. We are also assuming that with home games predominantly on a Sunday that traffic issues should be at a minimum

No mate the traffic heading to the TC on a Sunday afternoon is biblical.

You will need to be careful though, in the NY there is much less traffic heading in and out of the TC, in my experience it spikes near Valentines and then dies of again until the end of March when the weather picks up and people need to buy different clothes.
Further down the line you'll have the traffic the RHS garden is going to bring, estimated at 1,000,000 per year, the Worsley roundabout is basically going to busy most of the day from now on.

The important thing is the queue in the bar after the games - if I can get a pint ordered and down after t'match this would suit me fine - I'll most likely be staying at the Novotel so it'll be like having me own chauffeur.

Well I'll be giving this a crack as I only live in Worsley, reckon it would suit Mafia and his step Dad too as they live local.
Really would think giving people a few more minutes after the game to get a scoop in and dissect what's happened during the game might be a decent shout, but if you've done your research you've done your research.

Will definitely use it now for the London game. Think you've got it spot on re post game as well. Would much rather get back to a local boozer asap for a beer rather than hang around at the ground for another distinctly average £4 pint.

We are trying to satisfy everyone which is almost impossible and we need to make it pay for itself so it is down to the fans now... Use it or lose it
