What would be the negative of getting Hastings for a season or 2? Cant think of one. Class player. Box office grabber. Chance of top half rather than going for merely beating the drop. No it is just nothing but positives. Yes it would be great for Hastings to stay. But one man never made team it dosent matter how good he is.Hastings should do what's best for is career. Don't often disagree with you Dixon but Hastings makes this team tick. He's that good give a golf cue and he could help the Yanks at the Ryder Cup.

Whatever anyones thoughts on his time in charge he deserves credit for again helping out the club in its hour of need.
It's a shame in a way that he didn't stay on as owner but pass on the running of the club to the new board that came forward. Or get a similar fans based group to get involved when he first took over the club.
Some of the stuff they have done and tried to do would've been a lot more effective with some proper financial backing.

Yes he threw a few bob in but without Watson, for me the coach of the year, Blease who found Jackson & Joey, the Board and the back room staff all doing their bit, in a year of chaos, then even Thurston wouldn't have made it happen. There's lots of people to thank.

Constant rumours of a fire sale and the club struggling financially yet we have once again retained our top flight status. Well done to everyone involved.

But do the positives out way the negatives. It’s not a case of negatives vs positives, we’re not judging the man here, we’re recognising and thanking him for financing the Hastings signing which has secured our SL status. Sometimes you can assess someone’s positive actions without shooting it down with an unrelated negative and vice versa. Chang, I couldn't have put it better.

People know my views on Koukash. I have to thank him for funding JH as without doubt that has saved the club. However it was a lot of people who got this over the line. Maybe if he did things as sensibly as this during his tenure then the club would not be in the state he left it.

Suggest we accept that he atoned for his earlier mistakes and move forward together

Devils Advocate you beat me to this post. I'm a fan of Marwan in so much as he's saved our club on a couple of occasions now. His initial purchase of the club and funding the Jackson Hastings short Term deal. Let's face it without Jackson Hastings I feel we would be dead in the water now. Marwan obviously has his foibles which include winding the RFL up and unleashing tirades after a few sherbets on Twitter, but in reality, he must be a real Salford fan to fund the short term deal from his own pocket. I'd also wager that if Jackson stays with us, which we are all hoping for, that Marwan will be helping out financially in some way. Let's at least acknowledge his positive input to our club. But do the positives out way the negatives. Dixon, In this case I'd definitely say yes. What's the alternative go down and possibly into oblivion? I know what I prefer!
