Can I just add a comment, amongst all the euphoria about Hastings that I thought Lee Mossop was awesome tonight. Forwards like him let Jackson and Rob show their magic.

And we have found a goal kicker at last, and then he goes and retires! Great performance all round, and good to see Junior there celebrating at the end

For those at the game you need to try and see a couple of things on playback.
Hastings and Lussick just ooze love for Salford, it was palpable when they were interviewed.
And listen for the comedy moment of the year when Bill Arthur says that an injured Toulouse player is being taken up the tunnel, no wonder he was injured by that.

Tremendous result last night. Our defence was superb again. To have conceded only 75 points over the 7 games is a real testament to how hard they’ve worked. The composure in attack was back last night with Hastings back pulling the strings. Similar tactics to Leeds and London - safety first in our own half and put the moves on in theirs; plenty of patience. Difference with Hastings is that we tend to take out chances when we get into good positions, without him we snatch at chances. The kicking game is more varied when Hastings is in too I’m intrigued to see how Hastings goes against the top teams (wherever he’s playing 😊). Toulouse have been great this year in the league and the qualifiers and they showed last night that they can play The way we responded in the last 20 minutes though was perfect. We could have really struggled when they got back within 6 early in the second half. I think earlier this season and in previous seasons we migh have blown it from there. But this Salford is made of sterner stuff and we rode out the tricky 10 minutes after they scored and once we got the next score we took them apart. Hats off to Toulouse and massive congratulations and even bigger relief for Salford

I’m still exhausted! I’d also agree that Mossop was very good, as were the pack in general.
Assuming (big assumption) next year that we keep the three pivots, if we get a couple more backs and another decent prop I’d be optimistic that we’d have a good year.
I think the future of Hastings and Lussick must now be down to money - for them and to demonstrate that we can afford a reasonable size squad. It’s up to us to do our bit now - no moaning just buy those season tickets.

Like everyone else I am elated we have survived for another season at least.I will leave others to disect the game.I have always believed in relegation and one up and one down.Widnes finished bottom and thats why they deserve to be relegated although I don't believe Toronto should be in the League they are and finished top so I believe they should come up.I hope they do for the reason I have stated.I have not said what I thought of the game I don't want people saying it's him again But I did hear view's that are contary to some on the forum.I suppose that's the way the mop flops.Let's hope we can survive again next season.

Personally I liked the way Toulouse played and hope they do get promotion (obviously, not at our expense; Leeds I would hope to do the decent thing and ...).

Agree with that RE Toulouse, great to watch and play some good RL. Different to most RL teams, similar to Cas last season. Would much rather they are promoted to Toronto although I’d be all over the Toronto away fixture.

I think that everyone put a shift in yesterday, and I'd like to echo Watto's remarks about everyone in the club working hard in the difficult times we've had this year.
Adding, of course, that Ian deserves no small thanks himself for what he has produced. Despite having famous names over recent years wearing the coaching jersey, I have more confidence in Ian Watson then any of them.
I'm glad that the crowd showed their appreciation to Toulouse (I couldn't be there due to the inadequate warning of the change of date, thank you very much) and I hope they'll make it to the top flight soon.
Renewed my season ticket yesterday morning. Can't wait for next year.
Dead pleased, me.
