I really wonder why crowds are low and people are losing interest in our game. Could Sky have any influence here and of course our fixture setters
Sky matches this year: again all local derbys Widnes, St Helens again and Warrington when MU v MC was on offer on a Saturday as well
Play offs: all 3 home matches on tv (non away) Widnes, Toronto, now Toulouse. So Thus night Toulouse great night for families, those working, those travelling on the M60. That usually bigger crowd who want to see the last match of the season will sadly not be there. I sadly will miss the last match of the season as I come from holiday ...on the Friday. Still could be worse. I could have booked my weekend in Manchester from Toulouse.
Easter Derby, our fixture gurus once again gave us Catalan at home as our local Derby: still better than when they played the year before away: they played Wed, we played Fri and couldn't get over there until the Sat for a Sunday match.
So Robert E you want better crowds and more interest....join our guessing game
Which day will we play? Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Answer: not sure so just keep all four days or nights blank throughout the season. Of course, silly me. And of course our planned Easter away trip to Toronto on Easter Monday!!!
And two steps forward one step back.....What is the LOOP?? don't tell me 6 matches Toronto and Catalan away, St Helens, Wigan at home on Sky and Hull and Hull kr on Thursday nights away
Yes we're heading in the right direction to keep total interest in our sport.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I’m not sure the fixures or Super League as a whole are the main issue for us. People regularly talk about the competition we face in Manchester and that is obviously true. However, where I think we are missing out is that we don’t present an ‘alternative’.
Rugby League as a whole seems to mirror football as far as it can. Thats fine in places like St Helens were they don’t have a decent team. I think Salford need to take a different approach to everyone else - the club needs to attract the younger/Trafford Centre market as well as keeping the core support.
People say we don’t attract that crowd because of rugby league’s ‘flat cap and whippet’ image but I think we can actually work with that without upsetting the core support. There are plenty of ‘youth’ these days dressing like victorian chimney sweeps. Why not try an leverage rugby’s image and aim for the alternative/hipster crowd.
Maybe entice some craft beer vans and decent food stalls to the ground for a start. Make every game a mini festival. I’m sure the die hards will still drink a craft beer.
Just a thought and it’s hard to cover my entire vision typing on my phone! Also, I’m aware it’s not as simple as I make out but I think we need a drastic change or we’ll soon be averaging 2,000 a week.

I think the merchandise needs an overhaul as well. Some simple graphic t shirts would do for starters - cheap enough that you can pick one up at the game on a whim but recognisable elsewhere as well. Was going to get a couple made up but the club needed the money at the time so gabe it to them instead.

I also think we need to promote the game in a different way. One thing that really annoys me is the use of "Dirty Old Town" at the games. It's an iconic song but for gods sake don't use it to promote your club! We are the home of the BBC, ITV, The Lowry and Trafford Centre. Use these institutions somehow to promote our club. We definitely need to improve our match day experience. The beer in the Tent is undrinkable and we don't get any income from any Game sales. It's a hard one to overcome but there has to be some way to improve it.

Tonight. Huddersfield V Wigan Had a Attendance of 4,197. So even Teams higher up the Table and far better at Promoting themselves still suffer Courtesy of Skysports Scheduling Obviously Crap weather.

It's not only sky the game is run by amateurs and they are not only at the RFL Lennigan at Wigan and the other clown at Saints are only interested in their own clubs they would have a two team Super League as long as they won it every season.

Do you actually believe that? Do I think the game is in a perilous state yes I do.People go on about our attendances even the top teams have lost support. The next tv deal is due in 2021 if sky half the payment we will have to accept as far as I can see.if they pull out the game goes back to semi professional.I have herd people say it should be their now.To be fair I think it is the same with Union. You have their current premiership their is only one team in the League below who could afford to go up.So even union as a reliance on benefactors and TV money. To a lesser extent so does football if it lost the money it would still be full time but the players would come back into the real world. But our game is not as strong as it was 10 years and it's not only me who thinks that. What do you think.
