Surely this proves that the RFL were lying when they said it was requested by London

Surely this proves that the RFL were lying when they said it was requested by London They've changed their generic e mail reply now by replacing the words 'home team' with 'away team'. So it seems Salford had the choice either to play a potential MPG/survival deciding game with only a 4 day turnaround, or request that the London game is brought forward meaning most of our fans can no longer attend. Conspiracy anyone?

Jesus Christ. I’ve now got to take 2 half days off! One on Friday to move house now I can’t do it Saturday and one next Thursday so I can trek up north for Hastings final game. The things we have to put up with as Salford fans eh!

Shame about this. Myself, a couple of mates and all of our collective kids were meant to be coming to this. In total 7 kids aged 4-7, most of whom had never been to a Rugby League game before. None of us will now be coming given it’s a Thursday night. That’s 10 off the attendance and a number of young kids not being exposed to Rugby League. The RFL wonder why crowds are down! I feel like writing to the RFL but but know it will fall on deaf ears.

Likewise....I was bringing 3 newcomers to rugby league from Football (Bolton wanderers) but they can’t come to a Thursday night match as they live in Chorley. I think we are banging our heads against a brick wall too be honest..I try my best to attend games and muster as much support as I can, but just get knocked back down by muppets at RL HQ. Sky are going to be the death of RL as we know it...!

We as a family are lucky in that we can make it on the Thursday unlike the unfortunate fans who cannot do so but I would like to say that after watching rugby league and Salford for 70 plus years I have been so depressed over the way that the game is going, not the actual rugby nor the players or the fans or the on field officials and the poor decisions. I am depressed over the inept individuals who are paid to run, administer and improve the game, these people profess that Rugby League is a family sport yet once again they are treating the fans and their families like they are irritants, they are taking the mickey big time. How the admin staff in the various clubs cope with the absolute diabolical way that they are treated by the hierarchy I find it hard to comprehend and how clubs can sell hospitality and match tickets with the present set up is beyond me. I know of one family who have booked train tickets for the previously arranged date, which was ok until the recent announcement of a change, what are they supposed to do? Will the top brass compensate these fans and clubs in a similar way to Nigel Wood?I doubt that they will.

The RFL put a caviat on the middles fixtures about changes so they are bulletproof as far as compensation for fans.
Sadly they don't care, the lack of reaction on antisocial media to the fans who are now out of pocket proves this.
The very least we as fans should expect is free tickets to a Eng V NZ game to make up for all this.

Well said OSRD. My view entirely. When our club bleats about poor season ticket sales, I will remind them of this wholly unsatisfactory incident. I know it’s not our doing but why not a statement of sympathy and a call for the RFL to have a little more empathy and less hiding behind small print ps The RFL stinks of incompetence

Imagine, next season, changes to a Toronto game in Canada. Flight and hotel costs forfeited. But ,it won’t happen because the RFL know it can’t. So,why different with London and Toulouse ?

Now they are finally ditching this super 8s format there will at least be a bit more certainty about next years fixtures. Hopefully it won't affect ST sales too much.
Sadly it happens in all sports now. The recent Utd v Everton/Spurs v city fiasco is just one example.

You don't have to imagine next season. It has just happened to the Toulouse supporters.
It is contemptible.

Seriously? Surely the transatlantic games have to be set in stone? As an aside Air Transat have had a terrible few days with endless cancellations and delays, imagine if the team from Europe couldn't get there, no chance of a coach trip like we had during the Ash crises a few years ago.
