How confident is everyone feeling that we will get through the Middle 8's unscathed?
We've shown this season that we're good enough to be a top 8 team. We would be in 6th right now if it wasn't for the points deduction.
However, having to play Leeds and Huddersfield in particular, plus Leigh from the Championship makes me feel a tad bit nervous. I hope it doesn't go down to a 4th vs 5th place shootout - that would be pretty scary!
I remember last season travelling to Odsal thinking we would hammer Bradford and look how that turned out! However, my gut feeling is that we'll be fine.

3 weeks ago I would have felt much better about this as Leeds didn't look like they could buy a game never mind win, our not turning up when we played then seems to have been the cataylist for them playing well.
Get 4 home games and I'm more confident, hope 1 of them is Leigh at Barton that for me is the only stumbling block from the lower division.

More worrying about Leigh this season is that they've signed Danny Tickle and he's available to play straight away....

I'd be more worried when Jarryd Hayne signs for the Leigh 69ers

I think we'll be fine, especially if we get the four home games. We have a team that is focused, determined, and more importantly are a decent team. Barring injuries, I think our opponents will be far more worried than us. What's holding Salford fans back on this issue is that it's Salford we're talking about! We need to throw off the shackles of pessimism for once and back the team. The fans positivity will rub off on the players. We can all feel how much different this squad is, we need to not be frightened of showing it even if it turns out to go against us.
Come on people, engage your inner Wire fan!

Come on people, engage your inner Wire fan! Butcher,I'm thick, would you explain please. Thanks Just a little jest that Wire fans are absurdly optimistic every year regardless of outcome.

Come on people, engage your inner Wire fan! While I'm cautiously optimistic about our chances, I'm not deluded!

anyone think we should strengthen to be on the safe side, providing they are better than we have? Also injuries etc?

anyone think we should strengthen to be on the safe side, providing they are better than we have? Also injuries etc? I think we've probably got more strength in depth this season compared to last year, although a couple of short-term signings wouldn't do us any harm.

I feel that we could do with at least one prop forward, obviously similar to what we have but preferably of a better standard,as we do suffer a bit when the starting props are taken off.

Read a report saying Castleford are after Savelio from Saints, for me I'd be going for him on loan this season with the view to signing him permanently, would be good to see the Savelio name in a red shirt again. I'd also go for Green from Hull KR before he gets snapped up by someone else.
Problem you have is bringing in the right quality at this time of the season means a SL player and other squads are looking to strengthen as we are.

Savelio for me would have been a good signing, I like him as a player and he’s young, not sure what ££ he’s on and if the powers that be deemed it good business (if we had been offered of course).
As for Green, if we want to get him and I personally think we should, we will have to move quickly because he is attracting interest, reportedly from the NRL as well.
The future of York city Knights seems to be in doubt, I don’t want to see any teams fail, but where will it leave their players? Brinning the most notable for Salford, will he be able to registered if the worst happens?

I think a player not getting game time in the super 8's could come to us

Didn't know about York, hope as part of the deal for Brining might include a pre season friendly to generate some money for them.
