Hi All, I have added a link to the finding RE the SC breach. Not much is in it that we didn’t already know, No mention of the Locke Buisness and credit to Meli not getting involved. But what i was unhappy to read was the RFL appeal part namely section 9 and 10.
My understanding is the RFL wanted to increase the point deduction to 8 because we appealed and wanted to spread the 8 (or additional 2 im not too sure) into the middle 8 phase?
This seem a bit of a di@k move to me. I know im a Salford fan and see things from a Salford perspective but this just reeks of bullying. ‘my game, my rules, my decision, question it and I will implement whatever sanction I want!’

Playing devil’s advocate (ironic, given the glaring lack of a Red Devil’s advocate), have the RFL not got good reason to be pretty pissed off with Koukash? He deliberately tried to get round the rules, threw his toys out of the pram, changed his story and demanded a pointless independent hearing.
Without checking the timelines, I’d guess that when the appeals were being put together there was still a chance of us making the top 8. If that had happened we’d have effectively escaped without any real punishment. Whether we should have a salary cap is a separate debate, but if you’re going to have one then it should be enforced and transgressors punished to deter others, or what’s the point? Koukash is entirely responsible for all of this.

I would have thought that the RFL appeal was simply tactical,to muddy the waters and not give him free rein. The appeal tribunal is clear on what it's remit amounts to and its self limiting. It doesn't reopen the original appeal, just checks out whether the facts are correct and whether the penalty is within the bounds of reasonableness. He's made enemies and his late night tweets are stupid

What this publication does show (if anyone was in doubt) is that the RFL treat Salford differently to other clubs. All these inconsistencies whether its having 14 men in a match or player bans, points deducted etc, we can expect the worse from the current RFL mob.
I just hope that Marwan does his lobbying to remove these (idiots) in private and not on social media.

It really doesn’t. It finds the penalty in no way unduly harsh or disproportionate, and states that the penalty would have been more had the tribunal not been impressed by Koukash and satisfied that he was now putting the club on the right track. It also mentions that procedures have clearly changed since previous salary cap breaches by other clubs.

I don't think the that say Wigan or Leeds would be treated the same way, therefore I believe we are being treated as a 'special' case.

We’ll only find out if and when evidence of them deliberately cheating enters the public domain, as happened with us. Koukash was taking the piss and got caught with his pants down. He’s invented this RFL conspiracy narrative to cover his own balls up(s).

I think on the face of it we have done wrong and 6 points is our penalty. However I agree with bigt that the extra 2 points and how the RFL wanted to implement them leaves a sour test. Are we treated differently? I'm not sure but I am starting to think others seem to get preferential treatment especially by the disabling panel.
In the end it's done now. The boys need to finish an excellent season on the pitch. We have improved on last year and must focus on that. On wards and up wards!!!

Sean O'Loughlin proves a few inadequacies, the tackle Wigan had the balls to argue was nothing short of diabolical, that he got 1 game for something so blatant is a shocking indictment of how the RFL treats each case differently, Danny I'll cripple you Brough is another very good case. We cheated, we got caught and we tried to argue the toss - All obviously yes, that the RFL tried then to take us down a division in the middle 8's is corrupt and corrupt without doubt.

I suspect that’s partly the case. I can’t imagine Koukash has many fans at the RFL, but that’s mainly down to the dumb way he’s played the game. He’s like the loudmouth arsehole who walks into a new pub, calls the locals bellends, tries to pull the barmaid and punches the landlord, then kicks off because he gets barred.
I also suspect that the geniuses at the RFL simply hadn’t considered how points deductions would work with the middle 8 system.
