Sorry for being mr doom!but as I’m aware the club is losing 300grand a year plus the debt already we have I have certainly heard there is more chance of selling lui and kopzcak than retaining Jackson and joey we need a financial benefactor we dnt have one! How can they be losing £300k a year when there is no benefactor and they cannot lend money due to the appalling credit rating? As far as I know they are spending what they have and offloaded players to cover the shortfall from unpaid agents fees/big wage bill/lack of time to raise money. It’s not a great situation but I’m not sure where that £300k figure comes from?

That’s also my understanding,we only spend what we have and that’s fine. MK provides any icing on the cake. The historic debt is,to all intents and purposes, completely irrelevant,as it’ll never be repaid and the creditors are fully aware of that

Could we persuade MK to sponsor a couple of players (full salary) - Lui & Hastings - tax deductable for him instead of Directors Loan. Everyone a winner except HMRC.

I think he means for next season, not just the qualifiers

Could we not afford Hastings ourselves given the expected departures? Thinking Burgess, Nzongou, Kopczak, Littlejohn? We seem to have unearthed a couple of gems in Nakubuwai, Murray and Chamberlain who cannot be on huge money and should be considered 1st teamers next season.

Look at the figures ESTIMATED. 11 home games 2,500 & £20 = 550,000 Super league 1,750,000 = 2,300,000 Players cost reported as 1,350,000 so 950k clear plus sale of GOB & BMM say 350,000 gives us 1,300,000 plus sponsors etc. Knock off 300k to provide for errors in above and we have £1m approx. for stadium rent and management staff, physios, travel etc. Are our overheads so high?

I have heard (from a very reputable source) that the club loses upwards of £25,000 per home game, unsustainable if true.
I have long said it that the club needs to generate more money from the vast industrial resources on it's doorstep in Trafford Park and Greater Manchester as a whole.

As the club is owned by the fans do you think it is time to gives us a breakdown of our income & expenses?

As the club is owned by the fans do you think it is time to gives us a breakdown of our income & expenses? No. The Club is run by financial experts. They need us amateurs giving them the benefit of our input like they need a hole in the head. Its very professionally run and we should let them get on with it. Sure,we can put forward fund raising ideas but they’re working through all the various fund raising schemes very diligently

It’s just not realistic or of any benefit.

Never suggested we interfere with the running or ask for tiny details just a broad budget plan to show where we are at. We are part of this club or not, if they want to say 'mind your own business' then fine but you cannot expect much response with a cry of we need x amount to survive so stump up.

There are 2 very good arguments here.
If the club needs our financial support don't we as the people being asked to dip into our own pockets deserve to know the amounts required?
Conversely unless there are genuine financial wizards amongst us there ism't much we can gain by knowing all the ins and outs.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario.
What would be nice is if/when SL safety is assured that the club at the end of the season engages with fans in the off season to solicit help going forward with areas we can help with, there needs to be regular contact with fans about the clubs future and stability.

Good news that it seems no Salford players are in front of the disciplinary panel. If we can get another couple back from injury then we'll be in best shape we've been all season.

My reasoning for asking for details of expenses was that I think we could target fund raising for specific costs. It is always much easier to raise money for a targeted thing than simply asking for general donations. If we had a figure for say away travel costs, cost for doctor, new kit there could be a season long money raising event(s) for these costs. Show on the website how much is being raised and enthuse the fans.
