Weren't the Chinese people at the game the other week owners of a restaurant in Worsley? Would they be in a position to shell out for a stadium, its surrounding land and a debt-ridded unprofitable rugby club? I hope there's an element of truth in it, but it does seem a bit unlikely.

One thing strikes me, if the council want to sell the land that badly surely Peel would buy it to become sole owners and build there own retail/hotel etc?

Peel won’t do anything unless they can make a huge profit on the surrounding land and stadium, that’s how they work and they do it very well.
As for a port where ? On that stream at the bottom of the road 😳
Peel have that all sewn up on the ship canal and will make millions from it.
Remember this is the company who bought the whole of the ship canal Company for a quid when no one else would touch it.
Chinese investors 🤪 hope it happens but can’t see it.

Any kind of update on this?
Got to think the improved form in the middles makes this a more interesting prospect.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is what position Sale and they're owners have (if any) in this? Would the purchase of the stadium be as much as an option if Sale were going to leave as one of 2 sitting tenant's.
