www.salfordstar.com/article.asp?id=4661Looks like a Chinese consortium have agreed to buy the AJB and land around it from the council and Peel Holdings. Maybe a takeover of the ckub too? Fingers crossed

I think ‘agreed’ is a bit strong - still seems to be rumours rather than anything solid.

To announce this in the way they have suggests there is substance to it. I know John Blackburn has been talking to them for months so hopefully this will lead to a buy out of the club too...we can but dream

Can't see there being any sort of mention of it at the Buille Hill meeting if they weren't pretty sure it will get over the line.
Can see any remote possibility of a take over being reliant on SL status being retained.
Would be interested to see if the consortium will allow any change in the match day revenue situation, that for me must surely be the biggest seed change the club needs, generate more income and the club gets closer to breaking even at full cap.

If they get more of the revenue from the stadium it can't come at the expense of an increased rent. There has to be a positive change to the club's financial circumstances coming out of this. If the fans knew that the club was benefitting from the stadium sales they'd be more inclined to spend more

One of our own is a successful local brewer and it's not sold at the ground which I find incredible.

It's dependent on if they can buy the surrounding land and turn it into a port. I heard they are interested in the club and would take it over, all rumours but it begs the question of why they were at the Cas game

Do wonder if buyi g the club is a vehicle to keep one of its key tennents involved, don't much care on motives unless we are slated to become the Shanghai Red Devils.
Stability, investment and stability is what we all crave.

I’d be pleasantly surprised but bloody amazed if anything came out of this. Owning property, undeveloped sites and running Ports is why Peel exists. It’s why they did a JV with Salford Council on this. I could just about see them selling the stadium itself but no more than that.

I'd like to think Andy R is all over this and we are on the brink of a deal for the Chinese to buy us but i expect my dreams to be shattered as usual

Looking at the round ball version of football suggests differently. Since changes in tax laws in China, Chinese sports investment has reduced in 2018.
