My friend came up with a fundraising idea which I thought was great. Interested to see what others think...
Sponsor a players shirt for £100 and it has your name embroidered on to it (maybe the collar?). The player wears the shirt for the match and you get to keep it afterwards. Your own piece of Salford history.
17 players on match day, that's £1700 raised. Do that for the remaining 7 games and that's £11,900 raised. You would need 119 people willing to donate.
Personally I'd love to own a shirt that's been played in and also has my name on it.
What do you think?

It's a great idea. Pitch it to the club. Trouble is, the club are not great at even acknowledgment let alone embracing an idea...
Worth a try though.

Pitched to AR and I'm led to believe that the Club will support any fundraising idea that is suggested. I really like this idea. The fundraiser has grinded to a halt so this would be a good alternative way to raise some money.

As someone has pointed out on social media, this idea could even be extended to next season. That would generate a lot of revenue for the Club.
Bagsy Jackson Hastings with my name on his shirt! I'd happily part with £100 for that.

I'd need Brendan Hill to play again for the shirt to fit 😂
But I'll lob my name into the ring.
Bagsy Hastings, Lui or Junior.

Get the ladies to sponsor the shorts, they can then brag I got into their shorts 😂
Often thought that the club could offer the fans for enough a chance to join in a team training session once a for a fee.

Just an extra on the shirt idea.
Add £?? For the rest of the team to sign it to so it can be framed.
Obviously the players name need to be on the same side as the signatures incase anyone wanted it framing.

Cracking idea and one that would definitely work. Maybe even your name, opponents and date? Something to show the grandkids. It's the only way my name will ever appear on the field...😂

I agree but what does a player's top cost?

I agree but what does a player's top cost? That was my thought. If a top costs £50 add, say £10, to have the name added to the collar or whatever and it becomes £40 raised per shirt doesn’t it?

As feared it seems that the crowdfunding exercise as ground to a halt with less than 40% raised, this leads me to believe that this was just an exercise in finding people that are willing to go the extra mile to keep the club afloat rather than getting to the £20,000. It seems to have become low on the priority list for the club now after people bringing to the clubs attention of how it had slipped down the pecking order on the website. How embarrassing will it be when the club announce on social media that the supporters could raise less than half the sum requested, opposition supporters and some media people will have a field day and again the loyal band of Salford supporters will end up with egg on there faces once again.
