Sad to see but as we found out even having a benefactor isn't sustainable long term. As soon as they pull out leaving an unaffordable wage bill then it's a tough job to steady the ship.
As stated above it's a strange move as they could still actually finish in the top 4. Surely he could commit to the current wage bill for the 7 play off games before selling up?

It is the same for all sports If sky pull the plug it would we back to part time. The money that comes into Rugby League goes to the players or most of it.Same with Union.

Always thought he was an odious cretin and that just proves it, makes it trickier to sympathise. Just spoken with a Leigh fan friend who says this has been brewing for weeks with potential deals agreed before this week. Am disappointed the Doc hasn't used his friendship with Beaumont to secure a couple of players. Even more surprised rumours of a Leigh/Salford merger and then both taking ownership haven't materialised.

Sad to see a man who's put his heart and soul into something and really tried his best to have to do this.
Leigh Swinton Rochdale Oldham, all the games I really used to like ( but I hope we don't get them next season!) and we have to try and enjoy Toronto, Catalan, and all the Yorkshire dross. Wonder I'm losing my enthusiasm? Get some money into local teams RL and not these pass through the night teams. Next year London Wales US boosted probably..oh great🙃

That just an of the cuff remark or something new? The problem with RL in this country is the lack of a high quality talent pool, introducing North American and French teams would benefit the league if we could expand to encorporate what we already have rather than just abandoning a rich Northern history.

I think boost a rich Northern history. Too many failures inWales France London S Africa etc. If they want to play in France get their league going, same in Canada: all they do is drain our pool. Leigh will effectively have a team in SL next year if Toronto get there.
I'd rather have a Leigh or Swinton derby at Easter than watch Catalan yet again.
Why not develop a Cumbrian RL team rather than New York. Oh I forgot New York is just down the M6 so we'll generate lots of interest.
Too many fanciful ideas. Build from your roots. In Yorkshire Sheffield York then Newcastle in the NE, put the money there.
I possibly have had enough of pretentious glitz and glamour I like good RL, Northern maybe but real.

Rosler talks of the implications if Sky don’t renew, which has been the subject of some discussion. I’ve no idea but,if we withdraw to a genuine but only northern sport,I’d guess that it’ll be less attractive to broadcasters and the effect on the sport would be game changing. Catalans involvement, and London’s ,has been great fun and I hope that Toronto succeed. Regress to the so called heartlands and that’ll set the sport backwards for a generation

Leigh / Salford merger worth thinking about. Not for long. I'm just amazed Koucash hasn't commented on this, really did expect a bit of an idea about Salford and Leigh merging.
