Just to let folk who might have known him know he unfortunately passed away very suddenly yesterday. I don't know his full name unfortunately as he was only a passing acquaintance but he always wore his Salford top around Walkden, drank in the Vulcan pub and was a season ticket holder and attended many away matches as well so hopefully someone knows him better. He can't have been more than 30 and was about 6'6" If anyone does know him could they please pass on any funeral details when they have them as i'd like to pay my respects. RIP Phil. Best regards, Jon.

Just found out he was Phil Brooks. Pretty sure he used the supporters club coaches to away games.

It's bugged me over the weekend this, not knowing who the poor guy is. Think I've sussed it though - really big lad, dark hair and glasses. Always wore his Salford shirt under his coat and was usually around the grounds home and away. Usually got the 67 to and from the ground.
If so, or even if not, that's a real shame - would say 'hello' or talk about the game in passing. I would hope if the club are informed there would be something in the programme in the coming weeks. Shows you there's more to life than getting wound up by daft sports and stuff.

That's definitely him. Been trying to find a photo of him to no avail. I've actually got his number in my phone as when i lived in Walkden we'd sometimes get a taxi from the Vulcan to the ground and if we did i'd text him so he could tag along save him pissing about on the bus. The only reason we know his fate was because some of his friends went into the Vulcan to tell them about it and a friend passed it on to me.
