At various points in the 2nd half Huddersfield firstly had Dominique Peyroux taken from the pitch with a supposed HIA injury but he was allowed back onto the pitch within 10 minutes where as I understood the ruling that the injured player must spend a set amount of time on the sidelines even if he has passed the test to ensure it is not a false reading.
Secondly on one of the numerous occasions Brough was being spoken to by the officials he clearly pulled the referees arm to make him turn around so he could address him, is that not still an offence or was that just a bee the RFL had in its bonnet early last season?

It wasn’t peyroux (he plays for saints doesn’t he?) it was Ikahihifo. He went down “injured” after stopping evalds breakaway, thus slowing us down and taking the impotus from us. Alas we bomb the try, he makes a miraculous recovery, as it’s concussion assessment it’s a free sub (I think) and he makes a telling contribution when he came back on. One of a few times the refs were conned last night

Ikahihifo and several other Huddersfield players conned the ref several times last night, they did more dives than Tom Daley and each time the ref fell for it. Danny Brough had the ref in his pocket for most of the match and how he gets away with it is beyond me.

The one that got me about Brough is after he put a bomb up, our chaser pulled out of tackling him, so Brough collared him and took them both down to milk a penalty. It didn't win the penalty but it showed how cheap he can be. I'd like to see blatant cheating like that dealt with by the match review panel. Can't blame the ref for the Ikahihifo incident. The Doc makes the call, and that's the process that has to be followed. Still, a pretty frustrating watch from behind the posts where virtually every attacking kick ended in a penalty to Huddersfield. Some fair, some maybe not.

You get 20 minutes for a concussion assessment. If you pass and are back on within 20 it doesn’t count. If you can’t come back on or it takes longer than 20 it counts as a sub We had one with Lannon It did seem a bit convenient when the hudds player stayed down so long when we were on their line but he did look groggy to be fair and an injury at the play the ball can’t play on. Ref no choice The zero tolerance to touching the ref seems to have been roped for this year. One of the cas players grabbed the refs arm after Barba’s try the other day. The ref told him clearly not to do it. But doubt there’ll be any action Brough did his thing last night. He organised them well in the Devon’s half and he played to the edge of the rules and round our players up and helped put us off our game. Don’t know how he gets away with so much and I can’t stand him. But he’s superb at it and I suspect I’d love it if he played for us 😉

And there is definitely more simulation coming into the game. ESodcially when there’s a video ref. First time I noticed it was a saints player at the AJ Bell a few years ago in a televised game. Stayed down, video ref reviewed and told on field to give a pen. I said then it was a bad precedent and it happens all the time now. Greg Bird did it last week against us. Accidental contact with his head when he was falling in the tackle. Ref was playing on. He stayed down. Replay on big screen showed the contact. Eventually got up with nothing wrong but got a penalty. I think the routine doing of this by the video ref needs to stop. Fair enough if there’s been an incident and it needs sorting but when it’s just part of the tackle then it needs to stop

Another thing that has crept into the game is players going down 'injured' when their team concedes a goal line drop out, therefore giving the defence a breather before the restart is taken. There's quite a few things the refs need to clamp down on currently.

Just speaking to someone who was at the game last night and apparently Brough was fighting at the conclusion of the game with a fan who insisted that the stewards called the Police, any further information anyone?
Brilliant player as he has undoubtedly been Brough regularly brings the sport into disrepute with his actions yet always seems to get away with it scot free.
