Jones has to move back to the centres foe me with MCB outside him, Evalds on the bench so if needed he can come on and Jones moves into the pack. Shows the improvement when we have both Vidot and Carney missing and still have selection headaches in the backline. Do think this will be won or lost in the front row, someone has to get into Baileys face and milk him for penalties.

A pretty abject performance from Salford last night, but credit to Warrington who were better than us all over the pitch.
The scoreline could have been closer if Johnson and Kenny had took their chances. O'Brien also didn't seem to have his kicking boots on for once, which is unlike him.
I noticed that our right edge was getting targeted a lot, and we simply couldn't handle it. Too many tackle breaks on that side of the pitch.
Our kicking game is decent when we're on the opposition try line, but neither Dobson or Lui seem to have the ability to kick with distance. Sandow on the other hand managed 2 40/20's. I think we've only had one all season and that was O'Brien.
I don't know what either of the Walne brothers offers us. Neither of them are particularly good in defence or attack.
A bad day all round, but now we have to regroup and focus our efforts on the last 2 games and more importantly the Middle 8's.

I thought the game reflected everything about the Club at this moment in time. All the troubles off the pitch have definitely left a mark on the players whether they admit it or not. It doesn't help that we have effective players not playing at the moment, and the fact that two players had to deal with Family bereavements leading up to the game. The appeal going badly, the thoughts of players at the back of their minds that they are going to be fighting for their Families financial security for the rest of the season. MK hinting at stepping down leaves worrying question marks for everyone employed by the Club. So much uncertainty, bad luck, and stupidity have left the Club dejected, and melancholy holds sway.
Last nights performance encapsulated all these things.
Best thing we can all do is scrub it from memory and try to pick ourselves up for the fight ahead.

I think that the club now needs to massively promote our home games in the middle 8s. Perhaps there could be a vastly discounted mini season-ticket to cover all home matches (hopefully four!)to get in as many people as possible to support the team? I don't think it would be overly dramatic to promote the whole campaign under the banner 'Save our Salford in Super League,' to underline the severity of the situation. That said, we are not a bottom-four side and I think that ultimately our undoubted class will show.

Last night it shows why Wire are at the top and we are currently mid table (with points back). They take their chances. GOB kicking was a blip I think, and two trys that weren't taken and the scores are close. Yes our right flank seemed to be opened a few times which was a worry but over all, dispite the defeat I feel we are still heading in the right direction overall on the pitch.

I thought the performance summed the mood, a little effort let down by some ineptitude.
Thought Kenny had a very good knock and the bombed try was just one of those things, he is at the beginning of a steep learning curve, Johnson however should have done better, don't think I've ever seen anyone lose a ball that way in wet conditions, sure if it was bone dry you might dig in and the lack of friction cause the ball to come lose, sorry to say but for me I'd take offers for him and get a much better player and finisher Evalds involved much more, that he isn't is a real cause for concern for me, don't forget as he came through our system there are salary cap breaks (legal ones this time) to be had for his wages.
I wasn't convinced in the idea of moving GOB to fullback but he has been a revelation and creates so much from the back, think in the next couple of years he will become a very good full back.
If Tomkins is at Barton next year I'd be both annoyed and surprised, tries hard but just hasn't got that SL class. Kenny and the kid from York for me next season.
Think Griffin has gone backwards slightly in the last few weeks, thought at first he was going to be way to small for the front row but he played out of his skin, still think deep down he will move to #13 and play the Gallen type role.
Don't know why but just don't see Dobson and Lui clicking, both excellent players who try but there is just that missing spark, don't know what the answer is as I'd hate to lose either.
I find it worrying the total lack of news on what is wrong with Vidot, must be just about our highest earner so if he's been dropped it's a sad affair, if he is injured I've not seen mention one of it anywhere.
Think Junior looks much more comfortable and competent with Carney outside him, the last couple of games he's looked a bit vulnerable in defence.
The last couple of games to me show what an valuable asset Carney is, when he takes the ball up in the first couple of tackles near our own line he is the best option we have of a line break, Kudos again to MCB for being willing to try last night but a couple of brain farts let him down, but as I said recently new contract to keep Wigan's sticky fingers of him.
Can't stress enough how import 9th or 10th is for the extra home game, I'd go for broke and make all adult tickets £10 and everyone under 14 free with an adult, get a 1000 free tickets per game given to local schools and get the kids making as much racket as possible in the East stand to help with atmosphere.
