I hate to jump on the bandwagon of people saying Salford get different treatment to other clubs but we are constantly berated by media and other fans for low attendances, yet there was a crowd of just 1800 watching Widnes v Leeds and all I’m seeing online from journalists is that it’s a “problem with RL in general”. They were never once saying this when talking about our attendances!

I wonder how many ST sales clubs have lost since sky started Thursday night games? IMO it's the biggest reason why crowds at all clubs are down. Once people get out of the routine of attending games it's hard to get them back.

Widnes' attendances could end up like ours in the long term. They're last good team was in the 1990s ours in the 1970s. Perhaps this is recent enough for most of the Widnes fans still to remember their good times. They will have their hardcore fans like us I guess.

I was thinking the same, salfordfan. Too many years of dross wears away the gloss.
