"I wasn't allowed to comment on it on here." Amazingly we played 3 times at Leigh under the Koukash regime, and we lost all 3. Two of these were with Leigh in the league below, and last year we suffered a 25-0 drubbing. If only we had a young half back in the academy that we could draft in..... |

We have had a young player from one of the finest academies in the country playing for us, unfortunately it hasn't worked out.
When do they become 1st team ready.
I'm not against academies as such, in fact we have had some good players come through our own, unfortunately agents and money have seen them move onto bigger and better clubs. How many of the others stayed within the Rugby League family either in the lower leagues or the Amateur set up.
Has I have said I'm not against academies, but it needs rejigging, perhaps they are required to complete so many seasons at one club, but surely that infringes employment law under restraint of movement. I'm sure someone on here who as a better idea of the law and could enlighten us on this matter.
WE have a couple of young lads now in our 1st team from the academy, one seems to have grasped the chance and improved to the standard required, the other seems to have stagnated and I see no improvement from last season, could this possibly be the answer, its one of two things, natural talent and attitude to learn from all around you.
