We've missed out on scrum half Josh Drinkwater. He has signed for Catalans Based on what Watto said in his last press conference, we won’t be signing anyone else this season. This is the case for the foreseeable unless we find another wealthy backer or 10,000 fans start showing up for home games.

So the 2 or 3 signings we were defintley going to get with the Obrien money were just hot air again? Back to the Koukash regime just without the money.

I'm not sure about this mate, I listened to the same thing as you and it does seem a bit of a leap. In the last interview after the Wakefield game he said there was nothing to report in terms of signings, but that in view of the injuries they may have to speed up the process. I certainly didnt get the impression that he was saying there wouldnt be any more signings, more that it was complicated and that they were looking for value for money.

Yeah I heard it that they may need to accelerate recruitment, not that we’re not signing anyone

He was asked in the press conference if there’s any news on signings on the horizon and he said no. He did say we need to accelerate this but I think that’s more in hope. He said to Paul Whiteside in a podcast interview we’d be able to sign people if we had a full stadium but that’s not happening anytime soon. Btw this is just my interpretation on it, I might have read it completely wrong. Sidenote - Paul Whiteside’s interviews on the podcast are great, much more in depth. Radio Manchester could learn a thing or two.
