Jesus we need to get in the sheds and Watto needs to change strategy . Let’s keep it close! Coe on u reds! It wouldn't matter what strategy he used mate, the gulf in class is ridiculous and this with no Roby. Even our pack have looked dominated. 👆this. We are absolutely nowhere near them. There’s no lack of effort but there isn’t a single player of ours that would get in the Saints team. We just need to make sure we beat the teams around us and steer clear of those middle eights

This is embarrassing. Saints are not even doing much special- it’s basic rugby. Worst performance since Leigh last year.
They have not turned up and are not defending as a team. Johnson has been horrendous but he’s not the only one. Bibby hasn’t been good but has been hung out to dry time and again by Welham. Even Evalds and Sau have had a mare! I could go on.
Only player I'd give any credit to is Griffin - I’m not his biggest fan but he’s consistently and regularly run it in hard.

Mate, I agree there's been a lot of lacklustre performances tonight but we just simply cannot complete with this lot. They're too quick, too good and just simply out of our league. Main thing is, we stay clear of injuries and as already said, beat the teams around us.

It looks to me as this was given as a right off from KO. One man rugby and kicks to Barba every time are asking for trouble against this Saints team. Not one Salford player performed. Even against 12 we did not look interested. Need more backs as support or we are stuffed. No full back for the second half and non next week now. Most disappointing aspect was our forwards were so bad. Write this off and also next week. Just have to beat teams round us.

While I agree that we need to beat teams around us you can’t defend losing by 50 with an extra man for about 35 minutes surely?! I didn’t expect to win but I expected the same tight defending. Saints pace/quality didn’t cause those two bombs to be dropped for instance. I’ll calm down tomorrow no doubt but it was hard to watch.

And all you get from watto is “to be fair”, like someone said above we where never going get owt from this game or the next game, but shipping 60 points isn’t going to be great for morale, hopefully teams around us drop points and doesn’t effect us as much

Not his fault we have no money and crap crowds. We have to accept that 8th place is the best we can hope for anything else is a plus. SL is now like The PL four teams who can win things and the rest chasing round for scraps

Not much Watto could of done with that tbf. Plus side Sharrocs had a fairly decent game and gave a whole lot more to the game then anything Littlejohn’s provided.

I thought Shorrocks was very poor. I know he’s only a kid but wasn’t impressed. Not that Littlejohn was any better. I fear for us next week without Lui and now Evalds (who was also poor before he went off). Watson is doing amazingly well with this squad of players. To make the 8’s would be a great achievement considering the lack of quality and no further investment. Must admit it’s pretty depressing to see just how far away we are from a team/club like Saints, although we aren’t the only ones.

Nowhere near a Super league half back. And while we're at it evalds was absolutely awful for the time he was on the pitch. Not just dropping it several times and very nearly giving another away completely missing an easy knock into touch but his positional play was under 11s. To be nilled in the second half til the last kick of the game against 12 men is embarrassing.

Sharrocs( you spell it ) was crap wouldn't get in a league one team ( reminds me of Murphy from Wigan ) Saints were class, absolute class, backs ran the ball at every opportunity. I was telling mates before the game this game will tell us where we are, WELL. We cannot recruit so from now on we are a 2nd rate team, with fingers crossed we get in the top eight and survive year in year

Tonight was without doubt the worst experience as a Salford fan in 27 years and I'm not talking about the performance. Are we that desperate as a club in a ground 80% empty that we should be selling tickets to away fans in our end whose determination (despite having the whole east stand to sit in) is only to smugly rub in that their team is light years ahead of ours? This from a club who at Knowsley Rd (some) fans sent their season tickets back in the post because they only finished SIXTH? The Saints fans who roused me from my coma were sat behind me in our end last season doing the same wind up and we moved rows and seats as season ticket holders and they were still sat next to us tonight how naffing unfortunate is that?

To say I'm disgusted with that performance would be an understatement.
1 - 17 were poor, were worse than poor in most cases, if any of those players wake up this morning feeling anything less than utterly ashamed of themselves then they should not wear a red shirt again.
I walked before the end for the first time in a long time I felt that drained by that last night, sure Saints were brilliant at times, what irks is that the chief threat shouldn't be playing our great game as he is a serial drug abuser who by simply getting of so lightly the way he has cheapens our great game.

If in 27 years that’s your worst game, then I suggest u come to more games as it’s not even a top 5 for me. Poor, but nowhere near the worst

Reality check for the club and fans.
I said last week, to much derision for some reason, that the big test is how we function without Lui. While Saints are the best side in the league and anything other than a loss was never going to happen, the performance rather than the result has highlighted my point perfectly. The only good part about it is Lui is recovering during a stage of the season where we play teams we are never going to challenge. Hopefully this means he'll return for the important clashes against teams more on our level.
I'm not even upset anymore after these performances. My expectations after losing MK and his money, love or hate him, have actually been surpassed this season as I expected more nights like last night than we've had so far. The worrying thing will be the effect on morale and yet another dire performance in front of the cameras.
Onto next week...
