Stopped going because we always get beat and I can’t stand the arrogance of the fans. Remember going, back in the day,and Colin Dixon scored 2 long range tries early on. No idea whether that was one of the wins but I think it probably was. Happy days We lost that one as well.

One win super league and, it turns out, 4 wins since 1945 according to Paul Hulme the Salford fan statto on Twitter one of my first proper away games was at Leeds in, I think, 1989. First time on supporters coach (apart from the semi v Wigan a year or 2 earlier). I think we were something like 24-6 up ended up losing 32-28. Scores might not be exactly right. We looked unbeatable until we were beaten!! Been many games like that since then. And many where we’ve been hammered RUTB I remember that game too. We were well in control at half time and came out in the second half with a game plan. Kick early and chase. Unfortunately the coach forgot to tell the players to tackle as well as chase . In probably 20 visits to Headingley that's the closest I've been to seeing them win. After posting about it I googled it to see if I’d remembered it right. We were 20-4 and 26-10 up. You’re right about the game plan. We were kicking on 2nd and 3rd tackle from hopeless positions. In the first half Steve Kerry was immense with ball in hand and kicking. He was kicking it 70m plus time after time. In the 2nd half he was kicking from inside our 25 (as it was then) and barely reaching half way! We lost David Cairns in first 5 and Andy Burgess not long after so had no subs for an hour. Our current Director of Football had a good game coming on for Burgess. Until he got tired and angry and just started hitting people 😂 Can still remember jumping around as Hadley went the length of the field, one of my favourite ever tries. And he nearly won it for us with a break and chip into centre field near the end but Bragger was pushed off the ball as he went to ground but nothing given. I remember going mad about that too. As ever at Leeds a few dodgy decisions and a load of missed tackles and dropped ball cost us the game. Well worth a watch if you have an hour and a half free

39-38......the holroyd era.....we came from behind to either be drawing or just winning close to the end. Leeds score and take a short kick-off (which we’ve never learnt from) it doesn’t go 10 - referee doesn’t give us the rightful penalty and five tackles later Ryan Sheridan lots a one pointer.
Now that was sickening and ranks alongside last years refereeing gaffes.

Leaving Koppy, Mossop and Flanagan out . We're a lot weaker in the pack and signals Watson's intentions for today On Friday when these three were on the field we were far stronger

Sounds like another penalty fest. I know a few players were left out but against a half decent defence they seem to have no answers. Lets hope the new scrum half gives them some direction

No great shame losing away at Leeds. I think we've only won there once since WWII so didn't expect much. Hopefully we are at full strength (ish) against Wire on Saturday.

Just watched the video f the Leeds tries, the nearly try by Bi by and IWs press conference on the Leeds site.
We have no worries. With half our pack against nearly a full strength Leeds side we weren't far off.

Just got home again and had my tea..
First up, I was at the opposite end to all the other Salford fans, as my girlfriend is a wheelchair user, and the only wheelchair spots are at the East end, so I had to keep myself fairly quiet, not that there was much to shout about. Got a good laugh when one of the Leeds fans shouted "Come on Leeds, you're better than this" and I turned round and shouted "We're not".
Our defence was excellent. Breached once early on, made a meal of a kick, and the final try was after the game had gone. Defended stoutly, and would have won if we had enough creativity to score 3 tries. We had more than enough ball.
Lui was operating as the sole pivot in the first half and got shut down all the time. Not his fault, just too easy to read without other options. The injury to Evalds forced Lui to fullback, and Littlejohn was pressed to take control of the attack. I don't like slagging off players, but he struggled. Seemed to drift across the line without taking it to the line, run out of options, panic. His kicking game was not remotely as good as Lui's either. I really worry for us if this is our half-back combination for the rest of the season. We don't even need a flashy scrum half, just someone who can organise the play at a basic level and isn't afraid of taking it to the line. Lui is a much better player playing outside and off the cuff.
However, fix this and we have a good team. Strong pack, good defence. Not as many penalties as previous rounds.
Atmosphere at Headingley somewhat muted by the building works and the rain. Bit of a damp squib all round. That's twice in a row I've been there and not seen us score a single point. But we weren't smashed, and were in the game for 75 minutes. Onwards..

Some reports on Twitter that there was some rather unsavoury chanting from the Leeds fans, wonder if the RFL will do anything about it, chuck a plastic pot of manky beer on and the world comes to an end, chant some vile remarks about a sporting disaster and?
