Hull were without their key threats? Salford had to deal with the loss of the English Billy Slater in the week before the game.

I was impressed last night. It wasn’t the best performance, still not up to last years best but a win was really important and the way team worked so hard for each other and the way we were ruthless in the last 20 was great to see and spoke volumes about the attitude of the players and how they will respond to the coach. About 15 or so into the second half Hull were throwing a lot at us and we were starting to struggle in attack and defence but we hung in with some brilliant scrambling defence, holding our line and some masssive hits at times. Then Johnson made the break, we backed up well and scored and didn’t look back from there. We knew we cou win then and went for it. The pack was immense again (have we ever had better), Johnson had his best game for a long time and Littlejohn had his best game yet for us. And Junior was incredible again. He is an absolute monster. Difficult to choose an MoM but I’d go for Nakubuwai or Johnson i think Who was the official MOM? For me impossible to pick between JLJ, Junior or Ben Nak. Tell you what did do my faith in the team and club wonders was to see Tasi and Lui going crazy together celebrating after the final whistle, made me feel that maybe there is more of a team spirit than I thought was left. Can't think of a bigger more intimidating forward pack in all my time watching Salford, when they all click like yesterday there's no pack in the league will get close to roughing them up. Johnson looked like he had a point to prove and proved it, that said I remain convinved he has lost a yard of pace and bulked up that much that he is a centre of no little class in waiting. Hope we get to see Olpherts playing if Welham is out for any period of time. Have to say can't wait for Brining to get fit as think Tomkins brings very little to the party and the team looked weaker when Wood was subbed for him yesterday. Special word to JLJ put in a ton of effort and looked like he might just form a decent halves paring with the Star man as he showed his first touches yesterday that proves we've got a gud un. The negative (there has to be one) what moron decides to play a team from Hull on a Friday night? sure they brought a good few but it's just pure out and out stupidity playing teams from the dark side on Friday nights.

Totally agree MR. It should be Sunday rugby til the end of May, then Friday when the weather's good and people want to do things at weekends. Not just Hull fans but lots of people don't want to get home in this weather and come out again. Summer rugby

First of great win . People ask why we are playing on a friday night? ?? BLAME SKY AND THE RFL. A team cannot play on a sunday afternoon then play on a thursday night the players need as much time as poss to recover. I agree all round Sunday afternoons would be better all round , but SKY is runing the game not the clubs.

Missed the game last night because I was down in Essex at my Uncle's funeral. I checked the score at half-time and, being a Salford fan, feared the worst and refused to check again before I staggered to bed at 2am!
Reading the result this morning was a major hangover cure and the best thing is that the spirit sounds great within the squad.
My uncle was a massive Union fan and big Wales fan. I had some great banter with him mocking him for his love of a sport "that either fat or freakishly tall guys who weren't good enough to play rugby league" played!😊 And my biggest regret was never getting him to a Salford game so he could watch the "whippet rugby loving Northerners" in full flow!
Brilliant start to the weekend and well done to all concerned. Bollocks to those that say Hull were under-strength as I've seen the team sheet and it doesn't look too shabby on paper! Hopefully the lads can pick up some confidence from last night and we can start a bit of a run. We're nowhere near as bad as some people think and as long as we manage expectations we'll be just fine. We may need to negotiate the middle 8's but as long as the attitude is there (which almost cost us 2 years ago) we'll be fine.
Well done Watto & co and hope you all enjoyed a couple of well deserved Shandies last night!!👍

That win last night changes everything. Had we got beat then I couldn’t see where the next win would have come from but beating Hull at home means Widnes away looks winnable, as does Catalan on good Friday. Can’t see us coming away from Leeds with anything but then Warrington at home and Huddersfield away look good. I think ‘the group’ will grow into this season and play better as the weeks go on.

Definitely the best night since before the middle 8s last year. Relief was palpable, decent tries, sub 3000 but those that did brave the cold were rewarded and made a decent noise. Well done to them and us! Onwards...to Widnes!

Being a Salford fan has great benefits, from the drama's and the depths of despair, the agony of seeing them lose by shooting themselves in foot, often. To seeing and experiencing a good win like last night.
No supporters of Wigan, Saints, Leeds who win a big percentage of their games, just cannot image the feeling of a win like last night.
A great feeling

I agree. I guess for the big clubs, those rare wins over the aussie sides probably feel like this. But yeah, for the 20 years I've been a fan, I've always hugely enjoyed the wins when they come, especially when they're so utterly unexpected like this. Lifts you up for the whole week.

Lui was the official man of the match. He was very impressive to be fair. The height on some of his kicks was ridiculous and took his try well

Was given to Ben at the presentatiom Oh was it? That’s good. As I was leaving Lui was going upstairs in his kit, someone asked if he was MoM and he said yes
