It's 2 miles around a 40 min walk , I'd get the Bus from Eccles tram station Number 67 the Quickest there's also the Number 100 But that goes via the Trafford Centre , Definitely somewhere to avoid on a Friday after 5pm Massive traffic Avoid the Trafford Centre at all times at any cost as its a chav riddled sh!te hole. I've no intention of going anywhere near the Trafford Centre. Thanks!

How far is the ground from Eccles tram station? I will be making my first visit to the AJBell when we play HKR later this month. I don't mind a bit of a walk. Personally I wouldn't like to walk it!

Lazy fat barsteward!😉 I live opposite West One and regularly walk to the ground (unless it's absolutely pissing it down!). Takes me around 50 minutes. The traffic is dire coming out of Eccles so if you're on the 67 you quite often get stuck once you hit the Bridgwater Canal near The Packet House. It's often quicker to walk the mile or so from there to the ground than stay on the bus! There was a route that I did last season from Eccles which takes you down Barton Lane and then along the canal towpath just after the Rockhouse Hotel which brings you out round the back of the ground (near the away end) but not sure if that's still accessible due to the link road. I tried to walk back that way after the Swinton friendly and it seemed to be blocked off.

Just Remembered a Quicker route from Manchester city Centre Get the Train from Manchester Oxford Road to Irlam Station Then The 67 Bus , You'll be Travelling to the stadium on the Bus Against the Traffic. Only 20 mins from Manchester then 10 - 15 mins on bus , Lot quicker than Walking or Bussing from Eccles..

There's been a random caravan parked near Squires Court for weeks and I never said hi to you ;-) For those really needing the short cuts head towards the stadium, cut down Renshaw St and then Ellesmere St, carry on down Trafford Rd and Join Peel Green Rd, turn onto Tindall St just before the Unicorn and bale out at the end, you'll be left with 10 minute walk from there.

We got the 67 from Eccles around 5.30 on Friday and had to get off just after The Packet House as the traffic was bumper to bumper and this was 2 hours before KO - it is a nightmare getting to that ground down Liverpool Road you nearly always end up having to abandon ship around the Tesco garage/Packet House whatever day or time KO is (there's been a handful of times I've managed to stay on the bus all the way)
If we're just driving to the game we go via Eccles onto Barton Lane then down Peel Green Rd and park behind The Unicorn that seems to always be the best way.

There seemed to be No difference in the Time people waited on Friday than when we kicked off at Eight O'clock. Hope it sorts it self out before the next game I'm coming over for On Good Friday

I was away but I'm very curious as to how it went traffic wise. The Bridge has been miraculous during rush hour but from the couple of Sale games I've worked through it's just as chaotic as ever. I walked down to the Barley Farm pub, I was getting picked up from there. The car park traffic was stopped the usual 10 to 15 mins. But when we got to the traffic lights the stewards had all the lights, both ways, on red for the same 10 to 15 min with drivers from Irlam and the Trafford centre beeping their horns in frustration and quite a few jumping the lights, making it very dangerous for people using the crossing. I would of thought the T.L would of sorted the traffic out on its own

Are you the guy that's been stood outside for the past few weeks in a grey trenchcoat?😱 If you are, can you please dispose of your Kleenex in a more environmentally friendly manner in future?!😉

Drove from Irlam way back home and the roads outside the stadium were chaotic around 17:00, God knows what they will be like in the next 60 minutes until Sale kick off.
