As the news of the dual reg with Oldham has by and large been missed thought it might be worth seeing if a more centralised Mancunian academy might be possible.
Salford.
Swinton.
Rochdale.
Oldham.
Maybe even Leigh.
Use the Salford facilities and have each team put a certain amount into a pot for the coaching side, you'd think that the RFL would jump at the chance of this happening as you'd be offering a chance to talented youngsters from some rugby league hotbeds, I'd go so far as looking for regional or national government funding for such a big project.
Keep the players registered at anything other than academy level with their parent club and obviously allow for movement higher up the ladder if a really talented youngster emerges, would stop the big boys from getting all the young local talent all the time.
