It should be the Hub from which all links emanate but it should be up to date and have additional factual information, stats, link for juniors etc. Probably the main marketing platform. But of course you have to put time in, not like Twitter Facebook or whatever, which contain generally off the cuff I'll thought out comments which are instantaneous and generally of v little value unless you want to continuously bombard people The way it is at the moment it seems pointless and might as well be dumped and the money saved At least tho according to it we still have Evalds, Dudson, Lusdick and a few others in the team I think that's a little overly negative. For one, website's and running them cost next to nothing, so the club would hardly be scrapping it especially seeing as it links to merchandise and ticketing. '...not like Twitter Facebook or whatever, which contain generally off the cuff I'll thought out comments which are instantaneous and generally of v little value unless you want to continuously bombard people' That may be true of members of the public that engage the club's accounts, but certainly not the case by the club. The stuff the club puts out is always positive and about the things we're all interested in. I'm maybe not understanding the point you're making here though so forgive me if that doesn't make much sense. I can't fault you for the player profiles though. Something that irks me that.

Only for those on social media As I said previously, all roads should lead to a well maintained website, it's just rarely the first port of call for most. As long as it's updated in line with what is happening on social media everyone is happy. Those that don't use social media or choose not to are then not reliant on other areas to keep updated. The website doesn't have to be an all singing all dancing experience, It just needs a bit of TLC and someone happy enough to keep it rolling in real time.

It seems that we can drag ourselves out of mediocrity as a club, but that same mediocrity still hangs around us in everyone else's eyes.
How many other clubs have made a GF then a challenge cup final, have International level backs, and are constantly praised for our brand of RL. Debt-free and being marshaled incredibly well, but are constantly being written off?
The answer is none.
If we go one better and actually win something in the next year or two, we'll still be written down as relegation fodder. It's baffling and frustrating and that negativity can only have a detrimental effect on players and potential players. Hopefully it will motivate them.

Does anyone know when the website might show the new squad as complete at least for the time being? It seems to me it's all well and good having plenty of quality signings but getting people excited about the season coming up is also a priority and seeing the squad, even if the numbers aren't revealed yet, would be a good way to do that. When it looks that out of date I almost expect to fins Charlie Bott's picture smiling out at us. I'd have thought by about June if past efforts are anything to go by.

One name I didnt consider was Escare, after brexit he may now count on the overseas player quota. I'm certain Escape Registered himself last year On the UK Government EU Registration scheme thingy. He and the other folks who did As well gets a Right to Live & Work Authorisation in the UK, It's the same Scheme that all the Eastern Europeans signed up to Work in the Fields of Lincolnshire/Suffolk /Norfolk/Kent that none of us Native Britain Would never even Consider. I'm loving the fact that people's auto-correct is constantly changing Escare's name to Escape.

I'm presuming the RL removed the Kolpak ruling for this season due to Brexit, and streamlined it to just overseas players. It seems other sports with similar Kolpak rules to ours are now left with the possibility of losing their Kolpak players. A forthright bit of thinking for a change, although the ruling was one that over complicated the game tbh.
So the rule is seven now?

Squad is really starting to look tasty. Lussick is a big sticking plaster over our props problem. Will be interesting to see if any more will be signed.

Gary Carter tweeted this morning about Lussick joining us. Would be a good shout imo. Leeds fans hoping it was them he signed for, but I think the way Joey was treated at Salford has probably tipped it in our favour.

Seeing that's all we will be doing this New year's eve Mine would be a few pints on Cross Lane, home for a Potato pie supper then Swinton on New year's day. Anyway what ever you do stay safe God bless, and a happy new year to you all. Same to you, David. Didn't we go through a stage many years ago where we always played Leeds away on New Years day? I have memories of being at a few of them. Used to stand with the Leeds fans as we used to get a lift over with a Leeds fan. Was always a laugh, and the crowd always smelled of alcohol and cigars.

I think loose forwards are generally extra props in the modern game. It's a shame because the dynamic roaming loose was always great to see. Usually one of the most talented players on the pitch. I think it's one example of the modern game losing something for the worse imo.
While I think that our spine is solid, Brown worries me slightly in that he's getting on and his body was battered again last year. I really think we need a ready rotation player for him, but the obvious problem is that he's our organiser and we need someone else to fit into that role when the inevitable comes. Escare for Evalds isn't a bad replacement, although they are different types of players so can see our play style changing to reflect this. I have no worries over our wing and three quarters. Certainly our strongest areas and as good as any in SL. I'm not overly worried about the hooker position. Would be nice to bolster it with Levi or similar, but I think if we have to use what we've got they'll do a job. Will be interesting to see how Tui gets on under different management. I have a sneaky suspicion that Watson made him play a deliberate set style, after all, look at the difference in his play for Tonga under Woolf. He was obviously coached to his strong points rather than to fit into a certain style. If Marshall can bring that out in Tui again he may be like a new signing in itself.

First of all, do people not go to websites because social media is quicker or it it that websites are, on the whole, really boring and lacking? I'd hazard a guess that this site gets more traffic than the club website. Most fans want up to date news on signings in the off season. During the season they probably want match reports or highlights. Remember that this site is social media. In both cases the quickest route to any of these things isn't through the official site. Just look at this site as an example. Often news is on here within five minutes of it being released. Twitter is even quicker. This is not a competition but shows that the club would be wise to pursue both avenues. Which it does to be fair.

Just for it to be kept right up to date at all times. In all areas. Come on Carnster, it needs a bit of umph and pzazz about it doesn't it?
I'd like the squad to be ammended right from the close of the last season showing who's there for the next and signings after they've been announced.
I think Kris Welham is still up.
But the fan needs apart how could it become more interesting even for a casual viewer?
Without being bad to the club or whoever runs the website, in all honesty, how many Salford fans actually visit it for up to date information, latest news or anything else? I'd hazard a guess as 'not many'. Visits to the site will probably be mainly for ticketing and the link to the online store. Maybe a few for RDTV. Even the club doesn't use it as the first port of call to provide information. It uses social media to provide that, and that's understandable. Faster comms, bigger audience, further reach. The website just needs to be an up to date mirror for what it does on social media imo. In this day and age we're seeing the shift away from websites for any news and relying on social media because of its real time nature. I don't think the club is doing anything wrong with the website except keeping certain areas up to date. In all honesty, if you look at any sports teams websites they're much the same. They provide an archive for what has been put out on social media, merchandise, and their own 'TV' content. The club doesn't really need to add any glitz to what they've got imo. I know many may disagree, probably those who don't use social media, but I think those that dislike social media are focusing too much on the social aspect and not enough on the media aspect. Whether we like it or not, communication has changed and the important job of sports teams making themselves stand-out and be heard is paramount. The times are a changin'. We need to go along with that flow.

1.Escare 2.Burgess 3.Sarge 4.Watkins 5.Inu 6.Tui 7.Brown 8.Mossop 9.Ackers 10. Burke,Luckley, who knows. 11.Pauli 12.Taylor 13.Addy Would that be our strongest 13 at present?? A few of the forwards would be interchangeable but that looks like our strongest. The backs look as good as any I've seen in my time watching the club. Whoever comes in for Brown or Tui when injured could be key. Looking forward to what Marshall can do with this group.
