Massive effort from the forwards in the second half. Try saving tackle with five to go was huge too, was it Burgess? Absolutely superb atmosphere behind the posts. My first match in a year and a half I’ve been able to attend and I loved it. Decent number of inflatable snakes on display too.

Perhaps we need an equivalent of the squadbuilder setup - “Coachfirer fund”.
I’m not sure I’m even joking

It’s increasingly clear that changes need to be made. Can we afford to? We don’t have deep pockets.

Had this been a close game, I would be pointing to the refereeing, but the difference, as others have so rightly pointed out, was attitude in those moments. We’ve all seen some shockers over the years, but that was gut wrenchingly poor. Genuinely can’t see where the next win comes from.
I don’t even know how you start to turn this round.

I can't believe how utterly stupid and offensive Inu's comments are. Firstly, I couldn't disagree with him more. Others in this thread have very eloquently made the point that getting a conviction in such cases is an incredibly hard thing to do, so the evidence must have been utterly condemning. Second, how as a professional sportsman of many years standing, does he not realise that even if you hold such views, it might be better to keep them to yourself? Sure, support your mate in private if you must, but for goodness sake say nothing in public.
Surely the club has to act, especially with how quickly Tony Williams was ditched. It's a real let down.

Killing ourselves with indiscipline. Yes a couple of dodgy decisions but we are our own worst enemies here.

A high standard half from both teams. Plenty of go forward from us. If we work that hard in the second half I’ll be happy enough irrespective of the result.

Not the strongest looking team. No Pauli Pauli or Inu. I’m not expecting a win, but I’d be reasonably happy with a strong effort. Not asking the earth but I want to see improvement.

The most positive spin I can find is that we played badly against three teams that would probably have beaten us even if we’d played somewhat better. I didn’t expect us to win any of the first three league matches, but I didn’t expect our performance, especially in the most recent two to be so bad. Leigh is certainly looking like a very significant match in our season now. Play with that attitude and Leigh could turn us over, but bring a better attitude into it and we should be ok. The question is can Marshall and the squad find that attitude? I’ve never really grumbled when seeing Salford lose so long as the effort is there, but today and v Hull it wasn’t. I know some teams just have more resources and there’s nothing we can do about that, but I worry when I see a lack of togetherness and desire.

Perspective needed. It wasn’t easy to watch but Hull and Saints are two of the best sides we will play. Widnes and Leigh should be winnable. Catalans and Castleford tough prospects but easier matches will come. It always takes a while to gel new players and get moving with a new coach. It might be a blessing that we haven’t played one of the weaker teams yet as we will be more gelled when we finally do play one of them.

There is no way that our spine is second worst in the league, behind only a team that just found out they were being promoted. We have the current Tongan stand off and a former England World Cup finalist scrum half. But being perpetual underdogs suits us I think! Let them all believe that.

That profit roughly tallies with what I think the grand final run was worth to us. Leeds were finishing their stadium renovations so that should account for their loss.

Would prefer in order Toulouse London York
But am aware that if we were outside looking in, we’d be one of the unfashionable clubs being overlooked. I hope they maintain a clear promotion and relegation pathway for future clubs to join on playing merit as well. The resurgence in the strength of the championship is a direct consequence of promotion being reintroduced and it’s important for the game that any club can taste superleague if they win the league below. Not least because one day we might need that route too.
