What a difference a week makes. Brian Carney wrote on the Sky Sports website that after the recent events our morale must be extremely low and we look most likely to be picked off by the Championship sides who have momentum. For once, after the Catalan game, I had to agree with him.
Hopefully this victory will change that. With a break and the return of a few players from injury I feel more confident than I week ago. But this being Salford you know there will be dramas over the next few months.

Great win last night. Whatever you may think about Littlejohn you can deny he gives 100%.
And why is it that Wakefield have to be poor and last week the referee was terrible?

Now 8th and that needs to be our aim going forward. We need to win the mini league at the bottom end of the table.
A win on Friday is vital as we have Saints and Wigan after that. It’s annoying as I think we are only a few backs of being a quality team. Our defence is as good as its been for many a year. Hope the board keep to their word and find another outside back soon.

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but our fixtures over the weekend had me thinking.
Why, with the obvious exception of Catalan, are Salford the only club who don’t have a ‘local’ fixture? Some clubs have two. Surely it could have been arranged for us to face one of the Lancashire teams. Instead we get zero away support and a trip to that there Yorkshire to play the SL Champions. A hidden agenda or my paranoia?

Michiganred, its not as simple as the club `just saying no`, I was down at the club this afternoon collecting my tickets and was talking to Mr Blease. His words were "well his head was turned" There are several issues here and one being if his head was turned then it was the money that turned it and if he then wishes to leave, then there is no point the club trying to get him to stay and the fact the club got a good fee for him makes it a good worthwhile business for all parties concerned. ive no doubt if his head hadn't been turned then he would have been in the squad tomorrow night. The Club were not apparently looking to off load him but the circumstances placed in front of the player and the club only meant one thing. I don't blame any sides in all of this and particularly GOB as he will have to do what`s best for him and make as much money from the deal as possible. As OSRD posted...life goes on. From my experiences with Bleasby I distrust and dislike him intensely. Hope your right though, I really do. Gosh MR. You really are a bitter person at times. Could it be that the agent has a bigger role in this than we were first led to believe. Maybe, just maybe, he or she saw an opportunity for their client and themselves. It’s interesting how the thread regarding Ian Laithwaite received only two posts but anything negative is flooded with replies and speculation. GOB has gone and we have been told there will be replacements. If this doesn’t happen then the board will have left themselves open to criticism. So lets wait and see.

Anyway, back to Matty Smith. No. Never. Too slow and way past his best.
Give Littlejohn time to settle in.

As I've said to Derek on numerous occasions, I wish he would butt out of our Club's affairs. It's absolutely nothing to do with him. Exactly. It’s unprofessional to have a dig at another club’s predicaments, whatever the motives are.

No it isn’t crazy. Families with younger children are put off by an 8 pm KO when it takes so long to LEAVE the area after a match.

I think it’s a great simplistic design. But that bloody tree!

I said at the beginning of the season that if we win more than we lose it would be a successful season. The same will apply at the end of the 8's.
Considering where we were and what we have to look forward to, It constitutes a huge improvement.

I agree that Evalds should be full-back in the long-term. GOB to provide cover at FB and HB. With Lui signing a new contract this means Carney is surplus to requirements and the quota space should go to a classy outside back.
Some on here questioned the wisdom of giving Mossop a contract extension and sadly they would appear to have been proved right.
On Tomkins, he is one of the reasons for our excellent season so far. It's about controlling the ruck and not just the occasional eye-catching run.

Ian Watson for me.
Salford lad who has passion and talent. We are very well coached in attack and defence, and crucially have excellent team spirit. Just consider what's happening to some of the 'bigger' clubs like Saints and Warrington with their high number of players in the England training squad and our performance against Wakefield.
Koppy and Welham for England?
