Maybe Christmas Day fixtures should come back. I'd rather be at the rugby than watching the family fall asleep in front of the telly one by one. Saying that I suppose to have a competitive game on crimbo day, we'd have to go back to winter rugby with it's heavy pitches and slow pace(relatively speaking)

Sorry to see him go. We need a name like his associated with the club to help attract players going forward. It couldn't have hurt to get him involved in the coaching set up either. Ex players with his experience are hard to find. When Marwan said he was cutting costs I didn't expect Moz to be part of it

I know carnster. It's jobs for the boys. He's good but not up to the required level. He didn't do a lot wrong but Williams created more in twenty minutes than Brown did in an hour

I wouldn't say we're light years behind the Aussies but we are at 6,7 and 9. Unfortunately these positions are the most critical from an attacking sense. I personally don't consider Kevin Brown international class and can't see why he started in place of Williams

Apparently Vidot is looking like a new player the break has done him the world of good, fingers crossed as he was on the sideline 90% of last season I hope we do see his best next year. Looking at clips if him playing in the NRL you wouldn't think it was the same bloke. I know clips don't tell the full story but we've not seen anything like what he is capable of. I've said he was a waste of money but I'll be glad to be proven wrong and will be cheering him on to succeed. He's not a pudding, the injury must have taken a lot out if him on reflection

Looks like all our deals have been done for next year, unless anyone suitable becomes available late on. What do you think of Salford's chances for the Super 8's next season?

Is that a hockey game in a football stadium? I'm not well up on American sport. Brilliant support. It would be nice to pack the AJ Bell out like that. Having said that, can you imagine how long it would take to get a beer? Some experienced bar staff who have seen a beer tap before would be a vast improvement on match days for next year

It doesn't look like under 16's to me. If it is, what are they feeding kids these days? I think I can see Watson on the left, Bibby a few over to the right and Josh Wood near the centre.

I always liked Hood as a player but there must be a reason for him being passed around like a hot potato. In the space of a few seasons he's played at Leeds,Salford, some one horse town in oz, Swinton and Leigh. Think he spent a short time at another Yorkshire club as well but not 100% sure. Keighley seems to come to mind for some reason. Feel free to correct me

I thought the same. Surely if the squad had been scrapped those lads would be at another professional club or would be back playing amateur trying to get signed again. Are they in Salford clothing in the picture? I'm clutching at straws here but could they just be having a get together as mates?

Some of the youngsters will have to step up to first team level this time around. Of the glimpses we saw if some of them last year none of them embarrassed themselves at SL level. They'll have had more time to develop and more experience so if they're good enough why not?
The size of the squad is a bit of a worry though. The kids need to be drip fed really but a few injuries and we could be fielding a side made up of 40-50% youngsters

That clip does look like it missed but surely if it did there would have been an appeal from players and boos from the crowd

Just seen a video showing that Johnson's drop goal which won the match missed the target. Why didn't the ref go to the video ref? Where did you see this video mate? It looked good to me. Replays on the BBC looked fine too

You're right there. I hope he signs though. Great player. Just need to keep an eye on his off field behavior if he does
