There are references to United being called the Red Devils prior to the Munich Air Disaster, but we’re still talking 1950s rather than pre-war.

Quality Street Gang was a backhanded compliment – stunning on the outside, soft in the middle.

In my option his better days are behind him. We could have used him this year but I’d rather go another direction next year (assuming Hastings is off). If Hastings does go to Wigan and Smith to Saints then I would happily take Drinkwater.
Ditto. Drinkwater has already said he’s surplus to requirements and is looking for a club.

Was it the stadium that we played London Broncos in the Challenge Cup Yes it is. The slightly sad thing about the ground now is that Kingstonian FC now longer play there. AFC Wimbledon purchased the ground during their rise, and then a few years back sold it to Chelsea to help fund Wimbledon’s new stadium (in development). The ground was extended during that time and Chelsea had no need for Kingstonian to play there, so they had to find an alternative home. There was a story about it in The Guardian a while back: www.theguardian.com/football/2017/apr/25/kingstonian-kingsmeadow-lost-stadium-chelsea-afc-wimbledon.

I would wait until they are released before planning anything. There is still toing and froing.

The club don’t own the land though do they?
No, but it might curry favour with the right people over time.

Gary Carter is reporting on the Chinese business people that want to buy the club. Can’t for the life of me think why but you don’t look a gift horse in the mouth
The land?

I had to pay £5.80 for a pint of bitter in Albert’s Shed last week.

If so, they need to make that decision now. What happens if they were to finish in the top three but were denied promotion? 5th vs. 6th for the Million Pound Game?

What are the provisions if Toronto are in the MPG? Will a team from Europe have to travel to Canada with such short notice or will it be played at a neutral venue over here?
There was a thread on another forum suggesting Brian Noble made a presentation to the British Canadian Chamber of Commerce a couple of weeks ago proposing they would play in Toronto in the middle 8s, with the format being:
Wk 1: Away Wk 2: Away [Cup final] Wk 3: Home Wk 4: Home Wk 5: Away Wk 6: Home Wk 7: Home
This was, supposedly, before Rob Elstone had met with the club. Elstone is on record saying that he is anxious about Toronto Wolfpack.

There are a couple of things to consider with these non-exec appointments: how much time can they commit to Salford and will Rosler take what they recommend on board?

If the fixture formula is the same as the last couple of years, this is who we would get depending on where we finish:
11th Place Fixture Formula
Home vs. Championship 1st Home vs. Super League 12th Home vs. Championship 3rd
Away at Super League 9th Away at Super League 10th Away at Championship 2nd Away at Championship 4th
10th Place Fixture Formula
Home vs. Championship 2nd
Home vs. Super League 11th
Home vs. Super League 12th Home vs. Championship 4th
Away at Super League 9th
Away at Championship 1st Away at Championship 3rd
5 wins has always been good enough to finish in the top three. 4 wins should get you in the Million Pound Game, but not necessarily at home.

In recent times, the RFL has been the most well-off it has been for its history. So, financially at least, it has been better run. Rumour had it that they needed to pay-off Nigel Wood to the tune of £500,000 – so that may account for the loss due to senior management changes.
