Lui to KR Jones to Hull
Don't want to be the pessimist but losing such key player without the financial power to replace them with equal quality will see our downfall.

Can anyone shed any light on the financial issues that have been reported? I’m guessing it’s nothing new - we were already aware that we had the worst finances in the league but they have to sell papers somehow. I could of course be wrong.

"The accounts for one Super League club are out, and they make for terrifying reading." Just hoping this is not us! Our accounts were published on the Companies House website last week. They aren't great reading (but show me a club in SL whose are!) Worth pointing out though that this was for the period until 30 Jan 2018. The accounts for 18/19 won't be signed off by the board (and published) until the end of this year at the earliest. The accounts show us making a loss of about £179k in that year (as opposed to £727k the year before), so whilst not brilliant, it's not as bad as it was.

Old news and poor poor journalism! Losses had been slashed , Koukash has written off over £5m ! Yes there’s debt but it’s historically and there’s many reasons for it mainly the old regime , the next accounts in twelve months are the ones they should show we are living within our means at least and as for the scaremongering about being a viable concern, we’ll that was over twelve months ago and were still here , get a grip people and sack that journo !!!

Indeed, this is nothing like the crisis it first seems, I've put a much longer response in the 'Today's paper' thread.

It's a shame isn't it but unfortunately that's the way it is unless we can conjure up at least another 5000 fans from somewhere.

I suppose the longer we keep punching above our weight and hanging on the more chance we have of finding some investment- that’s probably more likely than digging up 5,000 fans unfortunately.

If the recent published accounts are accurate and we lost around £180k then around 1000 extra home fans per game would turn this into a small profit over the season. Easier said than done but also not an impossible task either.

According to LE Leeds are interested in one of our players and we're interested in a London player.

Yep, Olpherts being linked to Castleford, think we may end up like Widnes, all makes grim reading.
