Great news for us but it begs the question. Why was Mossop sent off when Jordan Thompson has been retrospectively banned for two matches and nothing done by the officials?  |

But it could have been in the play offs and it could cost the match. Ref overreacted here, and missed the Thompson incident. It certainly wasn't a Salford kiss, not even a Hale Barns kiss.

I'd never heard of the Ref before Friday night. Was he One of the Refs that was promoted to the Super League from the Championship After the Four SL Refs all quit? |

Just watched the video of it. Leeds player gives Mossop a slap/push in the face. Mossop responds by trying to nut him, or at least thrusts his head toward the Leeds man. Looks like he misses completely to me but he might make a slight contact. Either way you do that and you risk a red card so no real complaints from me.

It Was a Daft thing to do We'd just scored first tackle from the kick off, Thankfully it didn't affect the result. Just read that the Ref Tom Grant Is Only 24 years old And from Leeds 🤔 I reckon he's a laugh a minute on a night out. |

Watson said the ref had a good game and that he thought he reacted too quickly due to inexperience over the Mossop stupidity. I agree except that it took him a while when after the interval Leed tried the pressing (offside) defence tactic that they Wigan and StHelens get away with all season.
At least he wasn't continually blowing up at the play the ball for stupid little offences. A good ref is one that you don't notice, so I agree with Watson.
But until we get to the level of Oz with two refs, the game will suffer.
