See MCB is No 24 in Wakefield's 2018 Squad.

Make him 2 or 5 in the Salford squad.

Make him 2 or 5 in the Salford squad. Couldn’t see him getting a start infront of Manu or Johnson INITIALLY. Johnson was outstanding last season and we really missed when we he was out injured, especially getting us out of our own half. Obviously both of the above are prone to an injury so it wouldn’t be long before MCB could make a spot his own. Obviously this is hypothetical as he is a Wakey player.

Really don’t get the MCB ‘hype’. Very fast but not very good. He was attrocious in the quarter final against us.
We do need some pace but I don’t see the need to pull out any stops for MCB.

I also fail to understand why people clamour for his return. His defence is not great and would be a target for our opponents last tackle play when defending our line.

I think with MCB it's how you utilise him, can't remember any chips over the top when the full back was out of position for him to chase, early down towns so he could get into full stride.
I'm not saying he is a world beater but for me he is just about the fastest winger in SL, I also remain convinced now that Johnson has bulked up and last a yard of pace that his best position will turn out to be in the centres.

Sadly don't think he's anywhere near big enough. Except for the scum half, stand off, full back and hooker (the spine, I think!) everyone who's good, now generally looks like the second row forward of old but with speed and no body fat.

Not sure MCB is the answer but we definitely need some more pace in the backs. Like someone else said on here, a good loan signing of a quick youngster as cover for the wing is needed I think because as soon as Johnson is injured, any threat of pace out wide is gone.

Olpherts apparently is big and quick, the other addition Littlejohn will add pace in the halves; Dobbo was great but pace was his weakness. But 6ft+ guys who can do a 100m in 11s are at a premium.
Don't think Johnson is far behind Mcgillvray tho. We seem to be going the Fiji and Tonga route.....big big players. But I agree, the difference between a good club player and an international player of the same ability is speed

Rather have Higson, better all round player and always a handful. We tied MCB up in knots when he last played here.
