Thread unlocked for anyone wanting to continue the actual topic. For anyone from the Carnster family there is the perfect Christmas present idea. A clock, who'd have thunk that 24hrs would drag on so long ;-) I was distracted by all the excitement surrounding the dusting-off of our 1980's kit, and got all giddy that there was some actual news coming out of the club.

Back to the meeting at the Nags Head on the 19th November, yes the sound system was playing up a bit,but Paul Highton,Paul Whiteside,Mark Lee,David Campbell and Ian Watson handled the situation very well, after all we are Salford and nothing phases us.
The attendance on the night meant that the space and seats were at a premium and the audience handled the night very well indeed.
The owners and staff at the Nags Head put on an excellent night with good service, drinks, food and free pie and peas.
I felt that Mark Lee and Paul Highton gave an insight into why we all love the club with there snippets of past players and there antics over the years.
In Ian Watson we have I feel a young coach, who is honest, thoughtful, and his first comment in answer to the first question about how he got into Rugby League was, it was due to his first coach at Eccles,Fred Pickup, visiting Ian’s school and selling the game to him,the fact Ian put that before anything else says a lot about himself.
Some people have suggested that bringing old players etc to meetings does nothing for the younger supporters but it does and the fact that on the night fans young and old were in stitches over incidents that happened before some had born proved that going back a few years isn’t all that bad.
The new supporters trust are definitely on the right road and once the AGM takes place in January and the new board and officials are elected we can look forward to a good working relationship with the trustees of our great club.
