Looks to be the perfect storm brewing for Saturday.
Weather looks to be terrible. Dire form not going to attract many fans. Away team with a notoriously poor travelling support. Football at the same time and just after.
Set fair to be a sub 2000 crowd for me.
Can't see the performance being as bad as against Wakefield (if that is even possible) but can't see a win, think someone said it the other day on here we look dangerous when we play off the cuff stuff so lets forget about the 5 drives and a kick drivel we've been fed lately let's at least try and go out on a bit of a high.
Revert to Evalds at the back as GOB looks shot and lacking in confidence, try Brining for the full 80 and for me just tell Carney run the show, do whatever you like but just run it (in some cases literally run it), bring in Murray and maybe give Conner Williams a bench spot.

I reckon we'll struggle to get over a Thousand to be honest, probably will do like but not by much 1200 I reckon. As I said on another thread was supposed to be bringing another new face this weekend but not bothering myself now, they have given up long ago so why waste the money! I knew Utd was on at tea time but didn't know City were on at lunch time could be real shocker of a crowd.....and not many at Salford either! Wahey

Can someone explain why we are playing on Saturday and not Friday night? I know Sale are at home but I thought the agreement was when the seasons overlapped we had priority at the end of our season, and they at the end of theirs. Or is this something else we have since backed down on?

Or is this something else we have since backed down on? My theory is that Sale's fixtures were out before the top eights fixtures. I cannot understand why we could not played on the Sunday, or Saturday 8.00pm K.O. Why be afraid of clashing with Utd or City, There cannot be that many football supporters that watch us and either Utd or City. If you are a Salford fan you watch Salford, b******ks to football

Or is this something else we have since backed down on? As has been said, I think first dibs in the stadium is given to the club whose fixtures are announced first. This should mean priority is given to the club that is approaching the end of its season, but because Rugby League has this brilliant idea of announcing the last seven fixtures just two weeks before they begin - an idea so awesome, I don't think any other sport does it - it effectively means Sale have priority all year.

Both United and City are playing and on TV on Saturday. Why oh why are we not playing on Sunday, a traditional rugby day that then avoids clashing with the football?!? I predict 1837 in attendance. Higher or lower?

Higher or lower? I suspect they chose Saturday rather than Sunday because they're away at Leeds the following Friday, and that extra day's preparation time could be the difference between a crushing defeat and a humiliating one.

Probably true re picking Saturday rather than Sunday, though with current form and morale in mind just can't see it making any difference. We just had a 2 week break and still looked b*****ksed against Wakefield.

Another slice of doom that hasn't been factored in vis-à-vis the potentially horrific attendance on Saturday v Huddersfield is Salford City FC also at home on Saturday at 3pm. I've got a foot in both camps with STs for both and with crowds over 2000 at Moor Lane now a regular occurrence (also spotted Salford Rugby gear in the crowd)it's another pull away from the AJ Bell for some. I've not 100% made my mind up yet as to which ground I'll frequent on Saturday. If you'd asked me last Friday at 9.50pm I'd be adamant I wasn't setting foot in the AJ Bell again this season. However, deep breaths and an absence of alcohol since Saturday means I'll probably be back up Barton way to see if we're anywhere near as bad as the last 10 weeks has had us believe. United v Stoke in St Mikes at 5.30pm also. Yeah sod it, I'll be back on Saturday (for my sins).

Well done Hammerless nail. .At least one person has spotted it, yes we play leeds on friday, the sooner we get rid of this stupid top 8 playoffs the better. Home and away once a season is enough games, plus the challenge cup is enough, for me they can get rid of the magic weekend aswell, If the RFL want play offs, top 4 of the super league, bottom of the super league play top of the championship, stop all this messing about. I dont care if teams have got nothing to play for after 16 games or whatever because they not in the top 4, tough, play better at the start of the season. We as a team performed out of our skins to finish in the top 4 throughout the home and away, but we are having a tough time in the playoffs and the last couple of weeks of the normal season, But we FINISHED ABOVE, wigan saints, cats, warrington, to name just 4 teams the pundits said would finish above us in the season.

How many would be willing to boycott this game unless the re brand is finally put to bed? Nothing to play for and only 2 games left for people to get their views across.
All it would take is something along the lines of a statement/press release from someone (Salford forever group?) to explain why people aren't attending, and how we are looking forward to a celebration of Salford at the last game of the season vs Saints if the idea is finally shelved.
The current expected low turnout will be put down to supporter apathy and no doubt used to justify the future name change, whereas this way at least it would be seen as some sort of organised action by the supporters.

Not a good idea. Dont antagonise him, pointless. Look, if he walks we're even more up the creek. The name change debate seems to have gone the same way as Robbie Paul.

Senseless idea; can't see any point in it at all. No idea what you are trying to achieve.
Think you should have a very secret meeting about it, but don't tell us, please.

If this type of thing was going to happen it should have happened when we were playing well and it would have been obvious, do it now and it doesn't really make a statement. I'll be there Saturday as per usual but away the following weekend, I have that horrible gut feeling that it might be the last Salford game I watch as I remain convinced something big is looming come seasons end.

Lose - lose situation. Low crowd doesn't help the club in any way going into next season, or making decisions come the end. Organised stay-away just puts up a massive barrier between what few we have left and the club. It just highlights our problems and in no way makes anything better.
