It's pointless even debating this subject because the RFL are and always will be prejudiced. Remember Kevin Sinfield head butting an opponent the match before the Wembley Cup Final a few years back and getting away with it? Why can't we have an independent panel in Australia/NZ deciding the punishment based on the same video evidence? At least this way we won't have people with previous allegiances and bias to other clubs using their influence.

The RFL need to be made more accountable for how they reach their conclusions with regards to disciplinary action. How can one cannonball tackle merit a much more lengthier ban than another? It makes you realise that MK's gripe with Red Hall is justified.

Are we all sure it was Powell's tackle that did it? Let's not forget that lama did come back on and finish the match.

Did he see how heavily it was strapped?
Also when he came back on his mind didn't seem 100% focussed, maybe bothered about something else?

Maybe Tasi went back on just to see if he could get a chance to chin Powell? Any subsequent ban would be over by the time his injury healed. I generally don't criticise refs, and Childs was unsighted for this incident. However, the disciplinary panel (kangaroo court) is another matter. With the benefit of countless replays available from numerous angles, the decision to give Powell a 1 game ban is beyond a joke. What's more, it will encourage other players to think they can get away with it, too, and this might even come back and bite Powell's own bum one day. I wouldn't actively encourage foul or dangerous play, but I won't shed any tears if Powell cops a three-month injury from a connonball tackle one day.

Not sure it wasn't that tackle that caused it.
But Marwan did have a little wine fuelled outburst at Powell in relation to the tackle and Tasi being out for the rest of the season.

He might have done it when he was being helped from the field after crying out in pain and holding the knee that he has now injured and tripped over a butterfly.

Just playing devils advocate. Still not heard proof before we attack refs Who has "attacked the refs"? I've read through the thread again and not one poster has had a go at the ref. Read my earlier post - Childs was unsighted so he didn't see the tackle and did the only sensible thing he could by putting it on report. Not one other poster has mentioned the ref. The only ones who've come in for stick are Powell, Wane and the disciplinary board. NOT the refs. So, devil's advocate or not, that bit of your post is wrong. My only gripe here is with the dereliction of duty by the disciplinary dumbos.
