Not disagreeing, but what would the alternative be?

Agree they lack pace but Jonesis more solid defensively than Welham, who is also slow but a rubbish defender , Bibby is quicker but lacks experience, shows we need a quality Centre.

Bibby in the centre but it'll probably be Welham.
Hauraki to prop instead of Krasniqi

Welham is a bit of an enigma. He provides us with the best go forward and tackle breaks in that role, but also provides defensive frailty. You have to weigh-up the pros and cons. If it was me, I'd stick a stronger defender because of who we're playing. Leave the wide attacking options to the other side in Sau and probably Vatuvei.
Keeping Williams quiet will be the key. Wigan have scored a large percentage of their points off him.

I'm surprised there is any conjecture,Welham has been first choice, all season. Watson will stay with the obvious choice. we all know Robert Lui is a gamble for this match, therefore you start with him,and have Todd Carney on the bench to cover for a possible breakdown of Lui's fitness. I think the story of Carney leading us around the pitch is a bit of kidology,Dobbo will do that. Keep the faith........

I would fully agree with keeping the faith if we hadn't lost 6 out of the last 7. I'm not a fan of jones at centre, he's too slow for me, but maybe it's horses for courses. His defence is definitely better than welham, may be better suited to this game. TBH I'm not hugely bothered either way, both offer positives, but that's why there is conjecture
Re lui/Dobson/carney, depending on lui's fitness could it be they will put dobbo on bench and use him as interchange hooker?

What's all fuss, we only need 12, it's only Wigan!
I've always thought Carney would be a great interchange hooker. He's sharp of thought.

Am worried this could be a tonking looking at wigans squad, however this is Salford and after last year I will always keep the faith. Gutted GOB is missing as for me I'd pick him every time over Evalds. Hope the new boys play well and the comment about hoping walne doesn't play on another thread is mental.

Not disagreeing, but what would the alternative be? There isn't one really, as most have said it's either Welham or jones, ones better defensively, the other going forward. Was just saying we severely lack pace against a very pacey Wigan 3/4 line, I personally think this is where the game will be won as our packs as good as theirs. Just need to ensure we utilise BMM efficiently when we're in their 10.
