Rather than adding to the Leigh thread, thought I'd start another one.
I'm happy tonight.
I shall be celebrating with a couple of beers.

Despite the recent drop in form, finishing in the top 4 is a tremendous effort. As a whole this seasons been an amazing one so far, hopefully today's good news and the 2 recent acquisitions of Manu Vatuvei and Tyrone McCarthy will springboard our season.
Let's put the last few games behind us and concentrate on the massive 8-11 games ahead.
Come on Salford!!

I can understand to a point.But their is another 7 games then the season ends and every club new that.Wigan have been rubbish according to their fans yet they could still do the double.We have to admit the last couple of months we have been less than average.Yes it's nice looking at the table now but the test comes now let's have another look at the seasons end.

Dixon, everyone knows there's another 7 weeks. This is, however, a break point at which the top 4 get 4 further home games and 3 away ones. This 'finish' gives us an extra home game. It is an achievement, whatever you say, you old curmudgeon!  |

We're now enjoying our rugby, best position since 1976, and building for the next season.

Don't get me wrong we've surpassed my wildest expectations, but we should be pushing on not settling for where we are. I worry if this mentality is felt by the players performances like Leigh will be repeated. That will affect crowds and could affect next season too. |

Yes I got that, I still don't agree with you. If we put play like we did on Friday for the next 2 months this season it will leave a very sour taste.

You are spot on stand still and you go back.Widnes did well last season look where they are now. |

I said at the beginning of the season that if we win more than we lose it would be a successful season. The same will apply at the end of the 8's.
Considering where we were and what we have to look forward to, It constitutes a huge improvement.
