The Rugby League announce on Twitter today:
'The deadline for clubs to sign players before the end of the 2017 season is 5:00pm on Friday, July 21'

A decent ball playing centre who can put the beast away. No point in having that sort of talent out wide if he's starved of the ball.

I'm not sure which area(s) we need to strengthen most, and we seem to have depth in most positions.
For me, I'd like us to sign another top quality forward in the Kopczak mould - Taylor, Moors, Sene-Lafao, Ikahihifo, Cuthbertson etc.

Well for me i would see if Scott Taylor wants to come back from Hull, not getting much game time, don't know why.  Also we need a KICKER who can kick from anywhere, Kick off. 40/20s . Kicking for touch more than 10 yds. Drop kicks. and Kicking for goal from either side and straight in front of the post's and getting it between the sticks. |

Not much available at the moment, we are full on the quota so no imports and at this time of the season pretty much everyone is feeling the injury pinch and reluctant to let people go.
I'd look to bring in the 2nd row from York early, offer a bit of cash for MCB and look at bringing in another prop, as someone else has said if Taylor isn't getting a regular gig at Hull see if they will loan him back until the end of the season, maybe even the same with Griffin as he appears to in and out of the reckoning.

Surely Taylor has an injury? Consistently excellent for 2/3 seasons now and unless he's suffered an alarming slump in form then he should be a shoo in for any Hull 17. As for MCB...wishful thinking! It would be commercial suicide for Wakey to sell him to us as a rival when they have as decent a crack at the Super 8's as we do! |

Thought about this more and more and can't see why we don't approach Newcastle about getting Olpherts in ASAP, they are 6th in their league so very secure. Offering them the use of a couple of fringe players and a bit of cash would surely tempt them to let him go, the lack of pace in our backs means that it would be a gamble well worth taking.
