Which teams do you think will be involved in this season's Middle 8's, and who will be in the MPG?
SPOILER ALERT - It won't be Salford!

You never know with our daft owner the RFL will find something and have -12 points. It will be a tough time for super league teams like widens & Leigh as they may have to travel to France twice and go London.
Catalan Vs Wire MPG with Hull kr replacing one of them.

If Hull KR play like they did against us in the Cup, they've got a strong chance in the Middle 8's.
I would have said Widnes were favourites to be in the MPG, but they may be resurgent with Rangi Chase at half-back. Likewise, Leigh were good against Wigan last week and have given us a good game this season every time we've played them. Huddersfield seemed to have turned a corner too.
The dream for me would be for Warrington to continue struggling and know how it feels to be in the MPG. Last year was not good for my stress levels!

Honestly it's so hard to tell at this stage, as the points get restarted it will all be about form in the Middle 8s.
Bottom 4 for me will be Leigh, Warrington, Widnes and Catalan. Hull KR will be strong and who wants a trip to Toulouse during the Summer? If they manage to finish to finish in the top 2 of the Championship they will have 4 home ties so stand a real chance of the £1m game. How good would Catalans v Toulouse be? Surely that will draw a record attendance.
I do think this will be the last year of the Middles 8s format and the £1m game for that matter, Roger Draper has talked at length about a radical change with the ways things are done next season and there's no doubt they'll want Toronto playing in Super League asap.

You would say Widnes. They have looked clueless for a while, but are starting to find their feet the last few weeks. Wire look really dodgy at the moment, but you'd say that they should be able to pull it out of the bag when and if it matters in the mpg. So I'll go for Widnes v HKR in the mpg, and I think Widnes will stay up. HKR are decent but I wouldn't say they are miles better than Widnes at the moment.

I just hope on all that's great that Leigh are in the MPG and freeze, can't think of a better scenario than Hull KR beating them.
Would the RFL play the MPG in France if it was between Calatan and Toulouse? It is the RFL so I'd expect an on the Rd game in Scotchland to help spread the good game.

I'm really hoping that T O and Les Dragons are in SL at the dame time. The MPG is someone else's nightmare this season. TBH I think this is the strongest bunch of SL teams v much the same from the Championship, great drama for neutrals, anxious nerves shredding stuff for everyone involved.
Last year ... hated every moment but the last minute so I don't envy them one bit.
Which brings us neatly to yet another League restructure, still going on behind closed doors I take it, transparency and RL in the same sentence - maybe one day?
It is odd to think an SL season could soon involve trips to Toronto, Toulouse and Perpignan.

Don't understand what means? Are they hinting that we are heading towards a franchise system? If that's the case you'd guess that Coventry and Toronto will definitely be in there, Hawaii Hell Cats seems like a nice away day

My quote button doesn't seem to be working, so... Carnster, you said, "HKR are decent but I wouldn't say they are miles better than Widnes at the moment." To which I would say, "They don't have to be MILES better, they just have to be slightly better - and make sure they have someone who can kick a drop-goal!!

This is a difficult call at the moment, Leigh, Widnes and Hudds are finding form, so what is left? HKR v either Wire or Cats for me. My prediction is Wire v HKR and a winning drop goal by Dec Patton in normal time.
