I doubt Sky would give any anti Manchester demo much copy as they surely will be firmly behind the RFL on this and think new big city name in SL will benefit them personally.
I do worry if protests start that our owner and some of our fans are stupid enough to let this get out of hand.

Bolloc*s. I couldn't give a shi! if we were top of the league. The man needs to be challenged. If the team were bottom, I'd be saying the same. If you are willing to let him treat us FANS like this, and get away with all sorts then you are more deluded than him. Might as well bend over and let him give you one from behind.
This isn't about the team, or Ian Watson they are doing fantastic and I will continue to support and sing for them. This is about a man treating us like absolute MUGS.
Again I agree with what you're saying but I have to ask you a personal question. Are you vertically challenged and have quite a large family who watch games too? .

Stick our heads in the sand and let him take the club away? I don't think so. I think the last few weeks attention has been taken away from this and he's used it to his advantage. If anything more needs to be done now. What needs to be done though, that is the question. Correct, there has been many threads. I think its time we let him know we will not be walked over like this. And as you say, we need a plan on how to do it. We need people onside and people who are not scared to rock the boat. I understand and take on board what you are saying but there are some points that I cannot grasp. What have fans been banned for? Were you there are were you aware of what was said or done? Are you one of them?

I want to gauge an idea of who thinks what Do people want to be pro-active? Would people rather sit back and 'enjoy the season' etc.

Depends what it is Aswell. Any ideas? Agree about we would need to rise above it if our glorious leader did kick off.

I have major concerns at the moment, despite the team going so well. This should be a time of great joy, but sadly a very dark cloud looms overhead. I often wonder what scenarios are being played out here. The worst one for me; is MK slowly moving to a name change, followed by relocation (that will fail) and ultimately selling of the franchise!
Sorry to be doom and gloom, I wish it wasn't the case.

'Sitting back' and 'enjoying the season' are two mutually-exclusive things. I am really enjoying how the team are playing and how well we have done in the League and Cup; that's not to say that I'm burying my head in the sand regarding the off-the-field issues. I think any form of protest against the supposed rebrand or against MK's ownership needs to be done in an intelligent way that doesn't derail what is turning out to be a great season on the pitch. I would also suggest that the infighting and squabbling amongst fans, coupled with the negativity surrounding the re-brand rumours is going to detract potential new fans from coming to the stadium on match days, which in turn gives MK his ammunition to support the justification for a re-brand.

Sit back and we lose our club. Proactive positive approach, as you say controlled. Totally agreement from me

This is getting incredibly tedious now. Can we go back to some positive posts please? We're 2nd in the League, still in the Cup and pretty much safe from the Middle 8's! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Yes controlled I agree with you. The man causing the problems is the owner of the club!

The best thing the Salford public can do is get off their fat backsides and support the club. Apparently there's hordes of them out there - but they'll only come after the club has reached this mythical and magic line in the sand where the club has had years of success and a few finals have been attended. That's the best, and only way, to ensure nothing will have to be changed.
Bit of catch-22 though isn't it?
Owner saves club from oblivion and keeps the club going out of his own pocket. Owner can be a bit of a bell-end. Club finally emerges out of thirty years of the doldrums on the back of the owner personally keeping it afloat. Crowds don't really improve. Not a sustainable model for the future is it?
Either Salford and those surrounding start turning up and whether we like it or not, as the owner he's entitled to try what he wants in search of shoring-up the gaping hole in the clubs finances. That's the harsh reality.
The constant and monotonous drone of Owner, Club, and fans on this issue is frankly boring me now. All I ever wanted in my thirty-odd years of support was to support a Salford side doing exactly what it's doing now and yet I find myself constantly distracted with this stream of rumour, counter-rumour, and negativity that floods out from all sides.
I'll moderate this thread but I wont contribute to this or other similar threads until we actually know what's going on as it's just turning into a freak show.

But, crowds are increasing. Not by as much as he would like I understand, but what is he doing about it other than moan on twitter? 0 marketing. If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got, which is not very much. Do something different! But they prefer to just moan on twitter and block anyone who questions them

If the Salford forever flag is there in the corner of the south stand on Friday perhaps this could be a focal point for people to congregate. Get a decent group of like minded fans together and have 80 minutes of pro Salford songs etc. I know this is not the most drastic of suggestions in regards to any sort of protest however we need to be careful not to be labelled as a group of trouble causers and this could be a good way to go about it. Any sort of aggro and the owner will be all over it and there will be no chance of getting his twitter fan club on our side.

Another masterstroke.

It's a good rant and I don't think many would argue with you, but what's the point in sharing it far and wide? I think maybe fans should just concentrate more on enjoying the Rugby and see what happens. What will be, will be. I wouldn't say it's a rant. All what he said is true. It's not what ever will be sometimes you have come of the fence. If he changes the name he looses support surely he not that daft or his he.
