It definitely adds some excitement to the game, but when you consider we have won our last 5 and they have lost their last 5 I would expect us to go into the game as firm favorites and pick up the 2 points.
In addition, they suffered a horrendous defeat against a below average Huddersfield side without Danny Brough on Sunday, have had to travel home then back to Manchester and will then be forced to play a big Hull FC pack on the Monday.
My prediction would have to be Salford by 24-30 points, hopefully we can get a decent crowd as it's the start of the Bank Holiday weekend and it's going to be a glorious 27oC on Friday. Top evening for a few beers!

Given that the weather is nailed on to be hot Friday night the club should be putting on something outside the stadium, cook out maybe?
Can see a win over Catalan but for me we need to be ruthless, go for the jugular and run up a good score as for all we have been winning we haven't put anyone to the sword.
Hope the club has a minutes silence before the game, that there is no anti Mcr stance and that the Doc reigns it in for at least this game and sees the bigger picture.

What about the Widnes and Hull results they were pretty ruthless, but I take your point we need to be put a good score against these on Friday as I feel it will be a tough game at Warrington on Monday as they are hitting some form.

Good God what is wrong with Carney?
Think we'll see a home debut for Hasson, Evalds at the back and maybe Lui rested with GOD starting in the halves.

Would like to see if GOB can do it in the halves. Maybe this is the game to try it. He marshals the team from FB. Lets see if he can do it at SO, with Evalds as you say moving to FB. No Mossop, Carney (again) or Walne - are they injured does anyone know, or could they come in on Monday against Wire, should there be some knocks/fatigue?

Think Mossop might be just about gone for the season with another shoulder issue, frustrating with Carney we bring in a truly world class player and can't pick him when we most need him, can you imagine him playing on a hot sunny day with a fast track he would run the show.

Carney still got a calf injury according to Junior. Has to be a squad match with Warrington on Monday, then Wakefield very soon after that, so those with injuries might be given an extra couple of days.
Only half way through the season and we haven't got Wigans strength.

We play our strongest team against Catalans and we'd hope to win. Save players for Monday and we risk losing both. Team better balanced with GOB at full back. Both Carney and, indeed, Mossop came with health warnings.

I agree but I think this is our strongest side for Friday, without risking further damage to those injured.
