Might as well create an enviable thread about him. Makes more sense of Griffin's ankle break sees him out a while.

Not heard about that Was just thinking the same, think though with Hauraki back and Walne showing the form we all hoped he might achieve mean we have cover.

George was in a protective boot at the Widnes game and said he was going for a scan. Must have turned out to be a break.

Can't find any stats on him for this year, has he played? Played for Ireland in the WC. He hasn't played this season. The last NRL game he played in was for Manly in 2015, where he made 39 appearances for them over 3 seasons. I read an interesting article about him which says that he used to make Subway Sandwiches in Cronulla Mall before he played professionally. He would serve Sharks' Paul Gallen a chicken sub every week, on the house.

It's the one position with the exception of hooker that we lack depth in my opinion, especially when you consider Griffins injury. We seem to have a lot of props but very few natural back row forwards and have been selecting props to play in those positions like Griffin and Krasneqi etc. Also if we lose one of the centre's to injury or suspension we lose the option of playing Josh Jones in the second row. I know we have Hauraki back now but he's a bit injury prone and tends to miss more games than he plays.
The big question is would this Hasson give us anything more than we already have? He's got some NRL experience, he's the right age and has the the size. Plus he wouldn't be on the overseas quota. However is the main attraction the fact he wouldn't count on the quota rather than signing him for his ability? I know he looks handy in his highlights video but lets be honest every player can have an outstanding 3 minutes of clips over a few seasons.

Just watched his video clips on you tube, from 4 years ago, looks quite good. At 6'-4'' and 16st 7lb he looks like Koppy and Mossop. He is 25 now, so is watto looking at the future.

If he doesn't count towards the quota and it doesn't break the bank to get him in a Salford jersey, surely he's worth a punt. Youtube clips are very misleading but I agree that he looks pretty decent!

Im sure this signing has been muted a few years ago, I'm convinced i've seen that Highlight vid on Youtube previously. I might be wrong but wouldn't he still count on the quota as he is Non-Fed trained regardless of where he was born? Can anybody who understands the eligibility rules better clear this up Please?

It would be a bizarre signing if he did count on the quota considering he's not played first grade for over 2 years. I think the rules are that you are allowed an extra 2 non-fed trained players if they have European passports.

No
NO!
Based on the fact that he is another annoying pasty white kid who has chosen crap rapesque/yoof music for his showcase reel I say NO!
Doesn't actually look anything spectacular in that video, sorry but for me there must be players in the Championship who match his physical attributes and skill sets. The mear fact that he has not played 1st grade for 2+ seasons should say he isn't quite at the right level.
If we are after fringe front rowers from the NRL then for me Billy McConnachie or Luke Page would offer much more.

He would count on the quota cos he's non fed trained. Doesn't matter where he was born or how long since he last played. Video highlights are nothing too special but it's hard for a 2nd row grafter to show much on a highlight reel. Happy to trust the coaching staff and give him a chance if he signs

Perhaps the rules have changed since but I can't find anything on the internet to show they have.

Perhaps the rules have changed since but I can't find anything on the internet to show they have. Until last year clubs were allowed 5 overseas players but 7 non_fed trained players. These quotas weren't exclusive, is a player would count on both if he fit the criteria. This was always supposed to be a transitional phase to move from overseas to non-fed trained quotas, which I believe has now happened. Either way, we already have 7 non-fed trained players.
