Started watching Salford give or take 10 years ago. I think it all started out of my love of football being outweighed by my being bored to death by it.
I don't know why I chose Salford, I lived considerably closer to Wigan than the willows so it was a choice that made little sense. Maybe it was because my father was born and bred in Salford or possibly that I hate glory hunters in all their forms, being a Bolton Wanderers fan AND a Salford fan I don't think i could every be accused of glory hunting
But whatever the reason its stuck and I am now a ST holder in the South Stand and haven't really missed home game since. Would like to get to a few more away games though.

Cheers!
I'm actually a Dentonian and started following Salford in 2004 when a friend of ours took us. He was called Gary John and he used to compère at half time at the Willows. He died a few years after but me and my dad have continued going every week. I used to stand behind the sticks at the willows too so was quite happy when the terraced section was put there at the AJ Bell. Love it basically, win or lose.

Well this forum seems a much more pleasant place than that RLFans board. I’ve really enjoyed reading everyone’s stories. Here’s mine: An army brat since birth I moved to Salford when I was 11 in 1988. I passed the Willows on my skateboard and was intrigued so my dad took me to a game and that was it. I was hooked. I met some like-minded mates and we used to walk to the games from Fairhope Avenue where we lived. I went to a lot of the big games already mentioned on here (Keighley, Wigan CC) and some less big one’s (Trafford Borough away, Oldham away in the Regal Trophy). I got Adrian Hadley’s tie ups and invaded the pitch before the final whistle when the A team won the cup with a last minute try. I started playing League at Hope High before having a trial game at the willows for the Academy. I’m proud to have graced the hallowed turf in a Salford shirt – even if it was a trial. I was lucky enough to train with the 1st team that summer with the likes of Richard Webster, Phil Ford, David Young…with Gary Jack as coach. I came to Nottingham to go to Uni 20 years ago and I’m still here, married with 2 kids. I still get to games when I go home. I played for Scotland students and founded the Nottingham Outlaws club along with some Uni mates. Nearly 30 years on from my 1st Salford game and I’m still obsessed with the Reds, always will be. God help us! God help us all!

God help us! God help us all! I was in the first ever Salford Academy side, although I was one of the younger members being only seventeen. You're a couple of years younger than me so we probably missed each other by a whisker. I was in the same side as Phil Coussons, Pete Bowden and Damon Tamati among others. With John Blackburn then Billy bumblebeard coaching. With an occasional tongue-lashing off Kevin Tamati along with his coaching ideas. We were fortunate enough to put on the shirt and play at the Willows, something not many do. Great times.

First started watching and supporting Salford in 1986 , having started playing amateur RL at the time and wanted to see a professional side .... Solly were closest and so a roller coaster 30 years began.....work has taken me to live and play in many varied RL hotspots from Toowoomba in Queensland to Egremont in West Cumbria. For the last 15 years back in the UK in North Lancashire and have been to most home games since ( and quite a few away games ) - Since move to AJ Bell usually in the South Stand left hand side of sticks with variously my Dad, brother-in -law , nephews , sons and cousin ! Must admit to enjoying the East stand experiment earlier this season - much better view . Promise myself a trip to Perpignan each season but never quite make it..... Once again glad that this forum exists and impressed with the standard of banter as RLFans had become quite an embarrassment .

According to my late parents I saw my first match at the Willows in 1946 and I remember my Dad pointing out Barney Hudson to me at one match. I have been coming ever since along with my children and grandchildren. I lived in Brindle Heath until I got married at which time I moved to Walkden and have been there ever since. I attended St Anne's School in Brindle Heath and played rugby league, football and cricket there, representing the school and the town at all three sports, rugby league was my favourite though. All the schools in Salford who had Rugby teams were issued with free tickets which were handed out to lads who had played for the school and we had a teacher called Jack Wansell who was a Rugby League fanatic who introduced many lads to the game. The club were skint at the time nothing new there then, but it was a brilliant idea to get people interested. All the finals for the age groups,Junior,Intermediate and Senior were played at the Willows and we were refereed by Dennis Davies and Tommy Watkinson who were top grade officials as well as being teachers as I remember.

Long suffering Salford fan, been watching them since I was 7 years old (so, 42 years now). Born in Seedley, moved to Little Hulton, then out to Lancashire when I married. Travelled a lot with work, living for a number of years in Madrid with the family - handy to nip up to the south of France for my fix of Rugby League when needed! Most recently spent a year or 2 living and working in Thailand where I met my second wife, we're now back in the UK living near Kearsley. I try to get to as many games as possible, and can be found now in the south stand (although I did have season tickets for the west stand initially). Used to coach juniors at Chorley Panthers, but gave that up because of the travelling (and some of the the bloody awful parents!!).
