I've been a fan since Salford came and visited my primary school (Westwood Park, Winton) in the late 80's. I've been a season ticket holder for about 17 years and try to go to as many away games as possible.
I'm Salford born and bred but now live in the sticks in Cheshire. Girlfriend's choice, not mine!
I'm an IT Network/Systems Engineer based in Manchester City Centre.

Can't remember when I went to my first game but it was before I could walk, my Grans sisters husband was a massive rugby fan and knew a few of the players around the late 60's and early 70's, remember going and looking forward to my drink of Bovril and watching CC/Regal cup games on the TV, getting on the pitch at full time for tie ups, cutting through Hope High school and getting chased by Mr Jones the caretaker and learning my first swear words in the shed.
Have been going pretty much ever since, I think I have the Salford disease - I am a glutton for punishment.

I've been a fan of Salford since I was a young kid of about eight when my Dad and I became fed-up with watching Stockport County. I played amateur RL for Stockport (When they existed), Oldham St Annes, and Salford Academy (The first year the Academy came into existence) I grew-up playing RL with and against the likes of Sinfield, Jason Robinson, Keith Senior, and Andy Farrell. Also ex-military and ex-Police. Gave up being a firearms copper to bring up my two girls.

Been following Salford since my Dad took me to my first game - the cup semi at Headingley vs Sheffield. Had some great times watching Salford since then; my favourite season overall would have to be 2003 when we were in National League 1 - as sad as it was getting relegated, it was nice going to some different grounds (and seeing us win for a change!). 2006 was good too when we made the playoffs. Also, I'm a mechanical engineer in Birchwood, surrounded by Warrington and Wigan fans unfortunately.

According to my late parents I saw my first match at the Willows in 1946 and I remember my Dad pointing out Barney Hudson to me at one match. I have been coming ever since along with my children and grandchildren.

The old man started taking me to watch salford when I was about 6, I think. The first game I can remember is Swinton away, another early game I remember is lancs cup final at Knowsley road and hearing a st Helens accent for the first time. Thought it was hilarious! Loved the willows, still miss it but new ground is starting to grow on me.
Warrington born and bred, but fortunately both parents and grand parents from Salford so I was saved years of drum banging and delusion.

I remember being stuffed 59-0 by Saints and 44-4 by Wigan in,I think, 1959. The full back,Arthur Gregory, said it was like being stood outside a Woolworths revolving door on a Saturday afternoon. I played RU and a bit of age group amateur RL but not very well which doesn't stand me in good stead to criticise today's players. My son is a keen fan and my grandsons were at the last game. Highlights were obviously the Watkins team with Maurice Richards being amongst the best I've seen and Ken Gill out on his own as Salford's best stand off. A great shame he's put an x in the box for no publicity ! Never thought I'd be waiting so long for another Wembley trip.

Wow lots of experienced fans on here I guess I can be described as a newcomer.
I started following around 7 years ago but from a distance. My main sport has always been football (Stockport County) however I have grown out of football and take no interest in it any more the play acting and disconnection from the man in the street became too much for me, Rugby and NFL (Buffalo Bills) are now my passion and I haven't looked back once.
This year I went to my first game at the AJ Bell v Widnes which was a great experience and I will be back again before the end of the season for sure. I just know my lad will love it he is 3 at the moment so I am hoping to take him along next season when he is 4 I'm thinking this should be a good age to get him started.
Glad to be on here and I look forward to interacting with you all.
Cheers Chris

Been going to most home and away matches since my dad took me to my first game in 1992 when I was only 2. I used to stand next to the tunnel, where the classroom was, with my brother while my dad stood in the shed. I've volunteered for the club since I was about 10 where I helped to do the academy stats and progressed to helping with the first team. Although I'm now exiled to Yorkshire (blame the Mrs) I still get across for all the matches. Only ground I've not got to yet is Catalans, I'll get there but working in education it depends on the fixture draw. 24 years down, many more to come.

Started watching Salford in the 60s, at first always behind the sticks, changing ends at half time. Great memories of the Watkin's era, Chris Hesketh, Ken Gill, Paul Charlton, what an exciting team. Grew up in Eccles (Barton Lane) but been in Wigan since I got married (last 40years). I have four kids, two girls married and two lads who play for St Pats and Hindley (both Salford supporters). My favourite away trip was Blackpool Borough, always guaranteed a win and a seaside trip as a bonus. Had a break watching Salford in the 80s-90s, but been a season ticket holder since 2000 (South Stand). Moved into the Shed and loved the atmosphere, unforgettable. Still haven't adjusted to the new ground yet.

3rd generation Red, went to my first game at two weeks old so i am told in the 70's. Live currently in Bolton, but I am still working in Salford with a few other reds at a Housing Association. Once had the pleasure of working with Michigan Red and the late Eric Shaw, (RIP) many a shift chewing the fat over Erics stories when he worked for the club. Get to as many games as i can but not as many as i would like. earliest memories are Ken Gill, Watkins and Co. even though i was at the Wigan CC famous win, the game i enjoyed most was a night game in the 2nd tier at home to Keighley. ground was full and buzzing that night top vs 2nd with a Solly win obviously

Cheers Chris Welcome LG, just be prepared watching Salford is consigning yourself to a life of ups and downs.......mainly downs but you'll be used to that being a Hatters fan. I started taking my lad last year he was 4, attention span couldn't quite last the 80 minutes but that gave me an excuse to miss the traffic, he enjoyed it more when it got a bit warmer. Thanks for the tip dirk I'll wait until the weather gets more agreeable.

I'm not a Salfordian, but 10 years ago I met a lovely Salford girl and moved in with her, Living not far from The Willows I decided to give Rugby League a go and fell in love there and then with the game, the club and the people, so much so that I even married said "Salford Girl" at the AJ Bell stadium. My first game was the last home game of the 2006 season where we beat Castleford, think we finished 5th that season. So I'm not as long suffering as some of you but great to finally see things on the up, on and off the field!

I'm Andy. I've been a Salford supporter since 17th September 1989 (just looked that up on my old programme!). I'd never been particularly interested in sport, but at the age of 20 my mate and his wife dragged me along to a Grunhalle Lager Lancashire Cup tie at the Williows against Rochdale Hornets and I fell in love with the game instantly.
Unfortunately, 1989/90 season was a slog and we got relegated, but I still went to every game home and away for donkey's years. These days I'm a season ticket holder in the West stand and attend home games with my Neice and Nephew and where other commitments allow, we go the the occassional away match.
