Cas fan here, good to see two different teams at the top of the league this season playing attractive rugby.
I have a contact who is usually spot on with his info and has told me Flash could be signing with us for next season. He fit’s Powell’s mould of good defence and a good pair of hands, have you heard anything?
Apparently, he has impressed this year, the few times I have seen him (Saints and us) he has looked quality. You were handing out new deals recently and he didn’t get one despite being in the final year of his contract?

First I've heard.
Flash is a no-nonsense 13 who is tireless in defense and has a decent pair of hands. He's not an 'impact' type of forward. You wont see him busting defensive lines. As much as I'd be happy if he stayed, if he's been offered a contract and goes then he'll leave with the high thoughts of most Salford fans.
Speaking personally, if he went it would be interesting if we got a replacement although with the likes of Hauraki, who signed a new deal, who would probably slot into the thirteen quite easily.

I hope your contact is wrong with this one deansamsonfanclub - Flanagan has been very good for us this season and it would be a shame for him to leave. I've not heard anything either.

CEO Ian Blease has said they'll be offering contracts to the players they want to keep, but they wouldn't be doing them all at once, purely because he's already got enough on is plate turning the club into something that looks like a professional sports outfit. I suspect there'll be more announcements to come over the next few weeks.

'Could be' is the key word. Clubs aren't aloud to contact players off contract for still a few weeks.

That is a fair point twistthemellonman – When are clubs allowed to approach players form other clubs?
I have spoken to another mate who knows his rugby and he reckons he saw Flash and his dad in Cas last Tuesday, I haven’t seen Terry Flan since he finished playing (1988?) and would have no idea what he looks like now but my mate was adamant – Maybe there is something in it? Or maybe they both fancied a day trip to Cas………
Just looked at his stats and he is averaging over 35 tackles game this season which is very impressive plus a few assists as well. Milner has been playing well at 13 but I would rather him back at 9 with Macca and have Flash as a ball playing 13.

I cannot see Salford wanting to lose him, as well as his tackling he has been a link with passes to Lui, so he quite important in both defence and attack. Plus he has a business venture, coffee house in manchester. Hope this just another silly rumour

Yeah he runs PKP in Manchester in a pretty hands on role so would be a bit of a pain to be up and back down that stretch every other day. Rumour doesn't sound ridiculous as i can see Watson wanting to try to play with Lui, Dobson and Carney in the 13 so shifting one to 13 and letting Flash goes makes sense.

Can't see it myself, lives in Manchester CC and enjoying his time at the club. I would be gutted if we lost him such a strong defender for us and always gives 100%.

id hand flash a new contract asap, the way he run onto the pitch against saints when we had a head knock to cover the injury was outstanding commitment.

I've got a niggling feeling Flanagan, Jones and Lui will be off I'm with you on this one astleyred. If that's the case I hope we're already looking at potential replacements for them.
