That was an excellent result. The second half in particular was impressive; plenty of desire shown by Salford to get the win despite the Ref's best attempt to ruin things.
MOTM for me was probably Dobson, but Tasi and Sa'u also impressed.
Bring on Wakefield next week!

MOTM for me was probably Dobson Reports of his demise have been greatly exaggerated then.

Please don't start him off again A brilliant win made up for them. And I an still entitled to my opinion. We will see what Watto thinks when Carney's fit he as a decision to make.Because as M R said Carney's got to play. And Lui should still be stand off in my opinion. So for me Carney and Lui we will have to see if Watto agrees

Where to start, for me there were so many positives.
Very impressed with Junior and the way he constantly supported Bibby, in the warm up he was always talking to him and telling where to be and what to do, during the game he was also helping him positionally and on more than one occasion was straight in when he was tackled heavily to protect him, Junior is for me the best signing of the Docs reign and the very definition of a model professional.
Finally see why Watson calls them 'the group' rather than the team, they look one and all to be friends who are playing for each other as much as the red shirt. I hope that the previously destabilising Carney fits in rather than fractures.
We have a forward pack who week in week out perform against bigger units and more than match them, thought yesterday they out muscled Warrington until they looked bereft of ideas, Simms was pummelled every time he got the ball and looked disinterested towards the end.
We look like we have leaders all over the park, Dobson guided the team around the park brilliantly, GOD each and every week looks more and more like he's running things from the back and in Kopczak we have a prop who I'm convinced if he played for one of the big (maybe not so big on current form) clubs would be knocking on an England/GB spot if he hadn't already chosen to play for Wales.
Do think in Brinning we have unearthed a gem, watched Daryl Clark yesterday and for me Brinning has the ability to be just as good, I think he has the potential to go to the very top of the game, just hope that it is with Salford. His try yesterday was a brilliant bit of skill so close to the line.
Think yesterday showed that we don't need to use Justin Carney as the battering ram constantly, would be much happier seeing him occasionally use his pace rather than trying to smash through brick walls.
Couple of negatives though. Think Lui looks overweight and still not 100% fit, needs to get fitter as is definitely carrying more weight than he should be. And rather than berating the referees performance some of the fans should look at the reaction of the players, a few times the fans were screaming for blood but the players knew he had made the right call. Agreed there were some contentious decisions and the referee seemed to dislike signalling what the penalties were for. One suggestion for yesterday would have been to get Carney mingling with the fans before the game, we have brought in a genuine star player and he should be helping the club promo0te itself, so many photo opportunities were missed yesterday on glorious day with a large crowd.
Think most of all yesterday proved that a good team performance brings out the best in the fans as the atmosphere was second to non, if the players keep giving the fans something to cheer about then the atmosphere will get better and better. Do think though the club needs to identify a song and stick with it, let the fans get used to just one and make the players coming out of the tunnel an event like Hull do.

"Do think though the club needs to identify a song and stick with it, let the fans get used to just one and make the players coming out of the tunnel an event like Hull do". It's go to be: "Running with the Devil" by Van Halen, the bass at the beginning alone should let everybody know that it's about to crack off.

There's so many to chose from, huge Van Halen fan that I am it's got to be Thunderstruck for me. A bit of continuity and lets the fans get something going with it each week.

Some of the music yesterday was a bit wierd, used to love the old Viking one at the willows that used to work. To be fair, I love the fact they are trying to do stuff to make it a better experience. It won't be to everyone's taste, but I've got to commend them for trying. Blease is certainly making an impact.

Excellent performance all round. For me, there are a couple of noticeable differences over last year. Firstly, the goal line defence seems much improved. Secondly, Tomkins and Lui both seem to be running the ball more than they did last year. I thought Logan had a very good game once again. Lee Mossop too. And Lama Tasi is starting to look like the player he was when he first joined Salford. You have to keep reminding yourself that he just isn't good enough.
I don't like criticising match officials (even Messers Wonder, Blunkett and Pew who officiated at Headingley last week), but there were one or two debatable calls out there yesterday. Shame the match highlights don't show the Gareth O'Brien first-half break that was pulled back for a forward pass, because there didn't seem to be anything wrong with it and I'd like to see it again.
It was nice to see Tony Smith shaking hands with the Salford players as they left the field. He does seem to be much more gracious in defeat than the fans are. Over on the Warrington subforum of RLFans, some are calling for his head. Gone are the days when Tony Smith and Simon Moran were the twin strokes of the same Warringtonian ****-fantasy.
Also nice to see Ian Watson's post-match remarks about Michael Dobson "Dobbo was first class at his game management again today, playing against it in this kind of weather." Poor fool Dobson doesn't know he's for the chop when Todd Carney is fit. Watson was obviously just softening the blow.
Tough game next week, but Justin Carney should be back after his two match ban for Child molestation.

I thought yesterday was a very committed performance from a team that is playing as one. Ian Watson is to be commended for creating what seems to be the best team spirit and togetherness that we have seen in years. We are not at full strength but the players called into the seventeen are doing splendidly.
For me, Michael Doson was our man of the match. I thought Lee Mossop was excellent too. Lama Tasi seemed to have been given the job of looking after Sims and he did it brilliantly, never giving him an inch so that he didn't pose a threat. Junior Sa'u also impressed. We seem to be much stronger at hooker this season too. Young Brining has real flair, gives an excellent service from dummy half and knows where the try line is.
I have really enjoyed watching us this season. Let's hope we really are a good team in the making under Ian Watson, and this isn't another false dawn. Wakefield will be difficult but this team can compete with anyone. Here's hoping.

Thought we dominated the game from start to finish. The signing off Todd Carney has done us wonders as i think were seeing the Lui when we first signed him. I think anyone would of been pleased taking four points in the first 4 games this season especially who we've come up against. Its just good to see 13 players playing their part on the pitch instead off your 2-3. Wakefield Castleford widnes and Saints next to come up. id be happy with another 4-6 points there.

I hate to admit it but can't see anything but a lose against Cas but the other 3 are all very winnable, I do think if Saints carry on as they are losing to us might be the end of Cunningham.
