So just to get this straight re-branding is the end of the world but a merger with Leigh isn't? I'm sure there's a logic there somewhere but it may as well be in Cantonese for all the sense it makes to me! Wouldn't be able to accept either, we are Salford (though I'd be perfectly happy to change to just the Red Devils or Salford & Manchester Red Devils) and good God if my name was Avishalom Finkelstein I'd rather vote the National Socialist Party in the next election than have anything to do with Leigh.

Pretty underwhelmed if so. For a club claiming to have ambitions, it's a Salford of old signing if I've ever seen one... Hopefully I can be proved wrong on this... Camster, I agree with a lot of things you put on here but I think Luke Walsh may be a good move for us. When he's on the field and not injured he's certainly a quality half back. If, as rumoured we get Dec Patton then who better to give advise to GOB and Dec on improving as a young half back. Keep him on the field with a pack going forward and we've got quality and a good footballing brain. Plus he's a fair goal kicker. I don't disagree with anything you're saying. The staying injury-free is what worries me.

Tactically very astute, some speed, reasonable goal kicker but at times he doesn't seem to dig deep when the chips are down. (not a Brough).Wonder why he left Saints in his prime. I suppose it all depends on who the 3rd half is. With Patton, yes but I don't think GOB is the man.

Ian says a lot but never says anything does he?
British group eh? Albanians not required.
Still like Bullock (Barrow) & Battye (Broncos) & Sammut - if Widnes go down their young Hooker (Walker) is a cracker and if Leigh go (maybe Langi) but the WC could still be interesting with Pacific Islanders aplenty.

Amazing that when Noble came we had a good couple of 2nd rows Ashurst and Dixon, both British, a good prop and a good no 6 Sneyd. Ashurst tipped for International honours.

The thing about Nobby is that the game plan always seemed to be 8-9 Vainokolos and then a top notch spine with a archetypal smash the opposition, wear them out and win the game by zillions (not unlike Wigan) especially in the final quarter - simple, predictable and never going to work against the Aussies. But magic if you were a Bulls fan! When you spend neutral games saying "What's that SRD player doing in a Wakey (fill in as appllicable) shirt?" it does make you wonder!

For all his detractors the Doc would have made a much more successful Salford if he had brought in Sheens from the get go not Noble, I know it's conjecture but I'd put a quid on the fact we'd have been in the same position as Castleford by now if he had.

I've never agreed with the vilification of Brian Noble. I'm not defending him as a coach but the way his departure was handled was a disgrace ,particularly as it was a Doctor who professes to run management seminars of every description. I rated Dixon but Ashurst always looked lightweight and I wasn't sorry to see him replaced, from memory by either Hauraki or BMM. Hardly a step backwards. Sneyd has improved so much that he might have aspirations to give the NRL a go and,as a two times Lance Todd winner I wish he played for us now. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and there wasn't much of a complaint when he was used as a makeweight in the incoming transfer of the great magician. Of course Sheens would've been a better bet than Noble but,at that stage,MK had not yet become his 'mate'

Well I've never agreed with the vilification of the Doc so it's nice we balance each other so well and an element of disagreement in any family is very healthy!
