It said he’d left….back problems and leaving RL…but who knows His back problems will probably disappear once he stops carrying that team to be fair...

After his ‘troubles’ could see why he would want to get away, although he’s another 33 year old…but ok for a couple of seasons
Presumably he’s pushed himself into a corner at Cas.

Seems like trouble to me. I'll trust the clubs decision on this one.

High work rate, good hands, big guy too so would add some size. I'd be happy to see him in the team. He made a mistake in in his life but it's not like he's been in trouble for attacking or abusing someone.

Has been good but is he now a good time Charlie at 33+; recent events and his apparent drinking doesn’t show him in the Taylor mould. Would be a big gamble for me and as we know forwards over 30 get lots of injuries. Pass on that one

I'm okay with him. He isn't Hock, Chase, Locke, Carney, off the field. For pissed up and kinky with a woman, who hasn't been pissed and done something they regret?
As for playing ability, his stats were great for Cas last year, he still had something in the tank, will likely come in on a wage below his value, and had good hands. A backrow if him, Watkins and Partington would give us the great engines full of hard work and all have decent hands. I also see Westerman as one of those backrowers who could play the role of a long-stint but skillful prop at this stage of his career, like a poor man's Sam Burgess. He's a big unit at 17.5 stone. Plenty of second rowers have moved to prop, McMeeken is looking good there. Morley and Peacock in the past. Sam Burgess played that modern prop/loose and so did Paul Gallen.

Good to have different views…no doubt Rowley and Blease will do their due diligence

I share the views about his ability and if we have saved money from Sarge leaving would hope we have the funds to sign him.

Where have you heard this one? Friends over in the Castleford area Fair enough. I would be opposed to westerman. Think he could make a good starting prop.

Noticed Dan Norman is playing for swinton this week. I’d be happy if we could get him back at Salford, big athletic prop who suits the way we play.
