To be honest the ones I know of I don’t really fancy - don’t think they could crack the top level. Couple of young uns in there that I’ve not seen that maybe worth looking at if they are any good?

Thought we could do with something to talk about Callum Watkins, coming home? He's left Australia to be nearer his sick Father.
Signing for Toronto obviously

I’ve heard we were in for him before all this started, not sure if that’s still the case.

Well he did play for Folly and our Academy Always annoys me when I think of him, Betts, Morley etc not playing for us in their prime.

You’d have to think that he was planning on coming back to the UK anyway, what with them releasing him from contract rather than just giving him some time off.

Sorry, but if this is true then the RFL need to step in and halt his registration. If they are reducing player salaries because of the current situation and then using those savings to sign another player rather than using the money to ensure that the club survives and can continue to pay all players and backroom staff some part of their wages then this is financial mismanagement of the worst kind. The only way they could do this in any fiscally sound manner is for SBW to take a permanent pay cut in exchange for a larger stake in shares/percentage ownership of the club and use that money for Watkins...

Confirmed by Brian McDermott, signed but waiting for "red tape" with the RFL to be sorted before his registration can be finalised.

It does seem and odd and wrong way to go about this, and for the RFL to agree. However, TWP don't get any Sky Money and are in SL like the Dragons as a guest so why they have any salary cap restriction is plain wrong as well.

Denying them central funding isn’t right in my opinion but the salary cap is a rule of the game (whether you agree with it or not) so you can’t apply it to some clubs and not others. Either have it or don’t. Cutting player wages due to a pandemic and at the same time signing a player due to a loophole those cuts created is borderline immoral.

Don't know what you mean by fishing LR the Sky money doesn't treat them the same the salary cap does that's just unfairness no matter how you dress it up. There are quite a few examples like this that affect them and the Dragons and some that treat the well off/ bigger clubs differently too. I think people who don't want TWP there tend to say it's all okay nothing to see.
more importantly keep safe stay well

Out of contract players are free to sign with other clubs from 1 May it has been confirmed. Can’t imagine Evalds jumping ship immediately at least. Lussick on the other hand might be less likely to stay.

Can't blame players for wanting to secure their future at a club that's at least going to be here next year. Some smaller clubs such as ours are still on the cliff's edge.

No not at all. It’s a short career and these are tough times for everyone. I’d imagine most will wait to see what happens unless they already had something lined up (which they shouldn’t have).
